According to Pottsville Police, on Saturday, June 10th, 2023, around 11:20am, officers were dispatched to a home in the 700 block of Mahantongo Street for a report of criminal mischief to a vehicle.
Officers made contact with a woman who directed them to her vehicle, a dark colored Chevrolet SUV. Police said it appeared that there was an unknown liquid poured all over the front hood, the roof, and along the driver side.
While speaking with the victim, the woman stated she believed it was her ex-boyfriend, Thomas Undverdorben Jr., 42, of Saint Clair, who poured the liquid on her vehicle. She added that Unverdorben Jr. was just recently released from prison on Friday, June 9, 2023, from a prior arrest.
The victim reported since Unverdorben Jr.'s release from prison, there was a fake Facebook account created with a profile picture of her with a degrading remark written across the picture. She became aware of this fake Facebook account on June 9, 2023, after the fake account began messaging other people about her.
On Sunday, June 11th, 2023, Detective Krammes obtained video footage of Unverdorben at the victim’s vehicle on Saturday, June 10th, 2023, around 4:11am, where Unverdorben is observed lingering around the vehicle until approximately 5:00am where he is observed pouring the liquid on the vehicle and leaves the scene.
Officers later located Unverdorben and transported him back to City Hall where he was Mirandized and agreed to speak further.
Unverdorben admitted to using the fake Facebook account in an attempt to communicate with the victim.
He also admitted to pouring transmission fluid on her vehicle.
Patrolman Delinko charged Unverdorben with two counts of Stalking (F3), one count of Criminal Use of Communication Facility (F3), and one count of Criminal Mischief (M3).
He was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli on the above charges and locked back up in Schuylkill County prison unable to post $75,000 straight cash bail.
