Joseph F. Gober, age 80, of Mahanoy City, passed away Friday morning at his home.Born at the former Locust Mountain Hospital, he was the son of the late Joseph and Olga (Rutenis) Gober.
He was a 1961 graduate of Mahanoy Are High School and served with the United States Navy from 1962 to 1965. He was employed by Mahanoy Valley Door and Supply formerly in Mahanoy City and last worked for Office Max in Hazelton. He was a member of St. Teresa of Calcutta Church, Mahanoy City American Legion Post 74 and the Mahanoy Area Historical Society. He was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Philles and Eagles.
Preceding him in death were his wife Georgine L. Gober in 2018 and a sister Diane McCabe.
He is survived by two sisters Caroline Griechen and her husband Frank and Sandra Brown both of Mahanoy City, nieces, nephews and cousins and his canine companion Casey.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by the Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher on Friday June 9, 2023, at 10:30 AM from St. Teresa of Calcutta Church.
Interment with military honors will follow at Sky View Memorial Park in Hometown. Friends may call at the church on Friday morning beginning at 9 AM.
Contributions in his name to Hillside SPCA, 51 SPCA Road, Pottsville, PA 17901 would be appreciated by the family and will be accepted at the visitation.

Melissa Marie "Missy" Graver, 53, of Tower City, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023 at the Geisinger Medical Center with her husband and daughters by her side, following a courageous six-month battle with breast cancer.
Missy was born in Pottsville on July 29, 1969, a beloved daughter of the late Marie Hause Morgan, who passed away in 2005. She is survived by her dad, Gurney "Skip" Rabuck (Jayme), Williamstown, and her dear aunt, Edith Rabuck, who was an extremely important part of Missy's life.
She was a 1987 graduate of Williams Valley High School.
Missy had worked for Tower Sales/Top Star Mini Market for over 16 years. She gave up this job for the best job of her life - being a devoted grandmother to her two grandchildren whom she adored.
Missy was a very active member of the Tower Porter Improvement Organization, where she volunteered countless hours for her community. She was instrumental in the Kids Clubs Program and Halloween on the Midway. She was also very involved with the Williams Valley PTO.
She will be remembered for her love of the holidays and having her home decorated. Halloween was her favorite holiday, and her house always stood out. She enjoyed shopping, yard sales, camping, and her trips to Wildwood, New Jersey. Above all else, Missy's husband, daughters, and grandchildren made her life complete.
In addition to her aunt, father, and stepmother, Missy is survived by her husband, Robert "Bobby" Graver, Jr., to whom they would have celebrated 33 years of marriage July 14; two daughters, Alyssa Graver (Nick), and Chelsea Graver (Kyle); two grandchildren, Carson and Kaydence; two brothers, Ronald and Matthew Rabuck; her father-in-law, Robert Graver, Sr.; two brother-in-laws; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Her family will receive friends and family on Thursday, June 8, 2023 from 6-8 PM at the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Tower City.
