Patricia ‘Patsy’ Eroh Hydo
, 68, departed this world on June 3, 2023, after an unexpected illness at her home in Summerville, SC. Born in Hazleton on June 6, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Margaret Eroh.

Patsy graduated from Hazleton High School in 1972. She embraced motherhood to its fullest and was heavily involved in her children’s school and athletic programs. After raising her three children, she worked at Visiting Nurse Associate (VNA) and then as receptionist at PRO Rehabilitation Services in West Hazleton.

Patsy's love for her family knew no bounds. As a caring daughter, devoted wife, loving mother, and doting grandmother, she poured her heart and soul into nurturing and supporting her loved ones. She created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. As one of seven siblings, Patsy’s light-hearted banter with her brothers and sisters will surely be missed. Patsy’s family was her pride and joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

In her leisure time, Patsy loved connecting with her long-distance relatives and friends via the game Words With Friends and very much enjoyed the daily challenge of a new level in Candy Crush. She loved to cook and many will miss her traditional Easter pie, viscutz cookies, and of course, her homemade meatballs. After her move to the warmer weather in South Carolina, Patsy always marveled at the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Her new neighbors adored her and were always excited to see her riding her bike in the neighborhood. Always quick to have a witty come-back, Patsy brought laughter and joy to everyone who knew her.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents was her husband, Joseph J. Hydo of Beaver Brook.

Patsy is survived by her son, Christopher Pombo and his wife, Lori, Lebanon, NJ; her daughter, Amanda Pombo and her spouse Adrienne, Rehoboth Beach, DE; her daughter Michele Pombo and her spouse Gloria, Summerville, SC; her grandchildren, Devin, Ella, Olivia and Jackson Pombo; her siblings, Nancy Shellhammer, James Eroh, Janice Ciliberto, Peggy Uchno, Robert Eroh, and Martin Eroh; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, June 24, in Holy Rosary R.C. Church, Hazleton, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, McAdoo.

A calling hour will be held Saturday, June 24, from 9 to 10 a.m. in the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations be made to the Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease Foundation in remembrance of Patsy’s life. A personal donation page in honor of Patsy can be found at: https://secure.qgiv.com/event/cjdfoundation/account/1529269/
