Sandra Wertz, 76, a resident of Heritage Heights, Pottsville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 13th, 2023.
Sandy was born in Pottsville on July 24, 1946, a daughter of the late Frank and June (Reese) Wertz. She worked locally as an administrative assistant prior to retirement.
In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her sister, Cheryl Roman, on May 5, 2023.
Sandy is survived by her aunt, Margaret "Peggy" Androsko of Pottsville, along with nieces, nephews and cousins.
As per Sandy's wishes, she will be laid to rest at the Schuylkill Memorial Park during private services.
The Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Pottsville is assisting Sandy's family during their time of need.
Leona E. Ratomski, 90, formerly of Shenandoah, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2022, at AuthoraCare Hospice House, Burlington, North Carolina.
Born May 28, 1932, in Shenandoah, she was a daughter of the late Karol and Della (Bolinsky) Ratomski.
She was a 1951 graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.
Early in her life, Leona worked for several years in Philadelphia, having returned home to help her mother. She was then employed in the local Shenandoah garment industry. She was last employed and retired as a CNA from the former Trinity Mission Nursing Home, Shenandoah Heights.
Leona was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, formerly St. Casimir's Church, the Greater Shenandoah Area Senior Citizens, and the Columbia Hose Company Ladies Auxiliary, all of Shenandoah. Leona enjoyed music and played the piano.
In October 2021, as her health began to decline, she moved to the home of her lifelong friend, Elizabeth "Betty" Piampi Androshick, in Englewood, Florida, with the help and assistance of Betty's daughter and son-in-law, Marisa and Pete Barusic. She enjoyed Florida, living for one year before being displaced in September 2022 due to the direct hit of Hurricane Ian in Englewood, at which point she moved to North Carolina to live with Pete, Marisa and her "bonus" family. In October 2022, as she was rapidly declining, she was placed under hospice care and later moved to AuthoraCare Hospice House where she passed away on November 27, 2022.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her twin brother, Leonard Ratomski, and her brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Jean Ratomski.
Surviving are her caretakers, her bonus sister, Betty Piampi Androshick, of Greensboro, North Carolina, and Pete and Marisa Barusic, of Oak Ridge, North Carolina. Also surviving are cousins, Connie and Jim Bolinsky, both of Beaver Twp., Columbia County, and Mary Ann Lorenzi, of Hazleton; Sister Jeanette Maria, IHM, at Camilla Hall, Malvern; Janet Stack, of Philadelphia; and additional cousins.
Religious services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 17, at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah, with the Rev. Zachary Navit officiating. Interment will follow in Saint Casimir Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. A visitation will be held from 9 until 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Victoria "Tory" Faith (Stutzman) Boone, 30, of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away December 13, 2022.
Tory was born April 27, 1992 in Riverside, California to Richard "Rick" Stutzman, Jr., of Oklahoma, and the late Erika Lynn Hutchason.
She graduated from Westmoore High School in 2010, where she played the clarinet in the marching band.
She loved to cook, enjoyed playing video games, wrote poetry, and had a heart for taking in stray animals.
In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by her grandfather, Richard Stutzman, Sr. of Orwin.
Survivors in include her parents, Rick and Christy Stutzman; her husband Kalief Boone; siblings, Mary Stutzman and Juno and Jackson Ross; grandmothers Barbara Stutzman and Nancy Ewing; several cousins, friends, and other family members.
A Celebration of Tory's life will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Inc with certified celebrant Graham Stine officiating. A visitation will be held from 1-2 at the chapel. Tory will be laid to rest in the St. Peter's Cemetery, Orwin. Following the committal service, a meal and time of fellowship will be held at the Orwin Fire Company.
Lois A. Brady, R.N., 95 of Pottsville died Friday June 9th at Seton Manor Nursing Home, Orwigsburg.
She was born January 25, 1928 in Schuylkill Haven a daughter of the late Alonzo and Mary Neiman Runkle
She was a 1945 graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School and a 1948 graduate of Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing where she became supervisor of the Gynecology Department.
Lois was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville, and was a member of the last class of cadet corps of nursing at the end of World War II. She also participated in Harvard Medical Schools study in the health of women until it was discontinued in 2000.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years Robert L. “Buck” Brady on February 17, 2007.
Surviving are her son, Steve Brady, MD; daughters, Sandy Logan and her husband Pat, Lynchburg VA; and Sharon Hoak, Pottsville; 4 grandchildren, Allison, Jason, Michael, and Amanda; 5 great-grandchildren.
In keeping with the Lois’s wishes there will be no services. Arrangements are under the care of James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville.
Barbara J. Arnold, 90, of Pottsville, passed away Wednesday, June 14th, at Providence Place Retirement Community, Pottsville.
Born in St. Petersburg, FL on March 3, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Sadie (Worrell) and Hinman Willie Manuel.
Barbara was the widow of Chester A. Arnold, Sr. to whom she was married to 65 years.
After graduating from St. Petersburg High School, Barbara received her nursing degree from Mound Park Nursing School.
Barbara was employed as a Registered Nurse for 30 years and worked for the American Red Cross for 20 years.
She was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church of Pottsville. She was active in the many Churches she had belonged to.
Barbara was an avid gardener who also enjoyed traveling. She and her husband visited all 50 states as well as over 20 countries. She played and taught bridge.
A wonderful mother, Barbara is survived by sons, Chester A. Arnold Jr. (Michelle), Pensacola, Fla., and Stephen C. Arnold (Mary), Virginia Beach; daughters, Laura Field (Steve), Orwigsburg, and Cynthia Lynne Arnold, Reading; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara is preceded in death by her sister, Beatrice Wheeler.
A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 23rd at Ebling Stabingas Funeral Home, Cressona with Pastor John Wallace officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
Interment will be held privately at the family's convenience.

Constance "Connie" B. Klinger, 91, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 14th, at Luther Ridge Assisted Living Facility.
Born in Philadelphia on November 2, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Anna (Johnson) and Harry Ash.
Connie was the widow of Arlen T. Klinger to whom she was married 37 years before his passing in 1991.
After graduating from Roxborough High School in 1949, Connie served in the U.S. Air Force, working at the Pentagon in Virginia.
She was last employed as a librarian for the Pottsville Republican. Once retired, she was a volunteer driver for Diakon and enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, knitting,and painting. Her paintings still grace the homes of many of her family members and friends.
Connie was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Auburn, the Red Hat Society, and the Weekend Wheelers Camping Club.
Affectionately known as Gram to many people, not only her own grandchildren, she was the strongest and most loving person. She raised an amazing family with four daughters who adored her.
Connie is survived by her daughters, Deborah, wife of David Hummel, of Schuylkill Haven; Kathleen, wife of James Robinson, of Texas; Karen, wife of Jack McCoach, of Birdsboro; and a sister, Mary Ann Oakley, of Texas. She is also survived by grandchildren, Jeffrey Hummel and wife Kelly, Jonathan Hummel and wife Ashley, Ashley McCoach, Kaitlyn McCoach, and a great grandson, Landon Hummel.
In addition to her parents and husband, Connie is preceded in death by her daughter, Dawn Elaine Klinger; siblings Robert Ash, Elizabeth Gross, Harry Ash, Francis Ash, and Kathryn Durkin; and great grandson Aiden Hummel.

Tayvion A. Bryant, 13, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Monday, June 12th, at home.
Born in Pottsville on April 21, 2010, he was the son of Jessica Wolfe, Schuylkill Haven and Anthony Bryant, New Jersey.
Tayvion attended Schuylkill Haven Middle School.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Cody Barnes and Donte Brown, both at home; grandparents, Robert Wolfe, Cynthia Schwenk, Kelly Stevenson, and Bobby Canti; and a great grandmother, Mary Stevenson. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Lucy Wolfe and cousin, Mercedes Faith Mozloom.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 19th at Geschwindt Stabingas Ebling Funeral Home, Inc. in Schuylkill Haven with Major Kim Harris and Lt. Dorothy H. (Cudo) Wisniewski, 96 of Shenandoah passed away early Thursday morning, October 20, 2022, in her home.
Born in Shenandoah on April 10, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Ignacy and Mary (Mentel) Cudo.
Dorothy was a graduate of Shenandoah High School, Class of 1944.
Early in life, she worked for Luden’s Candy and Ford Motor Company, and later worked as a seamstress for many local garment factories until retirement.
She was a member of the Divine Mercy Parish and the former St. Stanislaus Church, the Polish Ladies Social Club, Greater Shenandoah Area Senior Citizens, and an original member of the former Eagles Club Auxiliary as a trustee all of Shenandoah.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her brothers, Benedict, Zigmund, and Robert; sister, Felicia; son, Daniel Vale Jr.; and daughter-in-law, Mary, wife of David Vale.
Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Raymond; a daughter, Diane Monlish (Daniel) Shenandoah; a son, David Vale, of Shelbeyville, KY; five granddaughters, Lee Ann Jones, Lori Vale (fiancĂ©, Paul), Dana Eppley (Tyler), Darlene Monlish-White (Geoffrey), and Danielle Mozdy (Joseph); five great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Dorothy loved her own children but also her many “adopted” grandchildren from the neighborhood.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 10:00 am in Saint Casimir Church, 229 North Jardin Street, Shenandoah with Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor as the celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Casimir Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. A visitation will be held on Friday morning, June 30, 2023 from 9:00 am until 10:00 am in St. Casimir Church.
