Go Joe 26 to Pass Through Schuylkill County Next Week

Joe Snedeker and Go Joe 26 are set to pass through Schuylkill County next week.

On Monday, July 24th, 2023, Joe Snedeker, a meteorologist for WNEP, is set to embark on his 26th annual fundraising trek to support St. Joseph's Center. The journey will commence near the Pennsylvania/New York border at the Susquehanna Depot, promising another adventure for a great cause.

The fundraising expedition, known as "Go Joe," has become an eagerly anticipated event in the region, drawing immense support from the community. Over the years, Joe has successfully raised substantial sums of money for St. Joseph's Center, an organization dedicated to providing crucial services and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The first leg of Joe's journey will see him cycling through Northeast Pennsylvania as he makes his way towards Schuylkill County. However, supporters will have to wait until Wednesday, July 26th, to catch a glimpse of Joe in the Skook.

Wednesday's route will take him through Beaver Meadows and Trescow before arriving at McAdoo, where he is expected to make a stop at the McAdoo Fire Station on Hancock Street around 9:30 am. The community is invited to the fire company to show their support.

As the day progresses, Joe will continue his ride, passing through McAdoo, Quakake, Delano, Barnesville, and Hometown. At the Hometown Farmers Market, Joe will take a break to host his noon broadcast, providing updates on his journey and the cause he passionately supports.

In the afternoon, Joe's cycling trail will lead him through Tamaqua and Coaldale before exiting the county to reach Lehighton.

Thursday, July 27th, will see Joe returning to Schuylkill County, where he will launch his day from Pottsville. Joe is scheduled to pedal through Marlin, Llewellyn, Branchdale, Newtown, Tremont, and Ravine. Joe will make a stop in Pine Grove for the Noon broadcast.

Leaving Pine Grove, Joe's afternoon ride will encompass Friedensburg, Cressona, Schuylkill Haven, Orwigsburg, New Philadelphia, and culminate at the Lubinsky Playground in Port Carbon.

Port Carbon's Mayor, Harold "Bucky" Herndon, has extended an invitation to the community to join the welcoming party at Lubinsky Playground. The celebration will include a bounce house, a dunk tank featuring borough police and community members, as well as food and drink, with proceeds going to Go Joe 26.

For over a quarter-century, Joe Snedeker's commitment to raising funds for St. Joseph's Center has been unwavering, and the community's support has been nothing short of inspiring. The meteorologist's journey has become a symbol of hope and solidarity, bringing people together for a noble cause.
