PennDOT to Oil and Chip Route 54 from Mahanoy City to Hometown This Week

Drivers and residents from Mahanoy City to Hometown should expect delays on Route 54 this week.

PennDOT has announced that oil and chipping is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, on Route 54 starting within Mahanoy City, through Ryan Township, and ending in Hometown, Rush Township.

Mahanoy City Police announced that "Parking restrictions are not in effect, but if you have concerns about your vehicle, it would be recommended to park elsewhere."

Should it rain, the project could be pushed back a day.

The work is expected to last 2 days.
