James J. “Jimmy” Pugh Jr., 50, a fierce friend and loving son, passed away at his home in Pottsville on July 3, 2023.
Born in Pottsville, April 5, 1973, he was the son of James Pugh and Donna (Ryan) Pugh. He was a 1991 graduate of Pottsville Area High School and 1993 graduate of Thaddeus Stevens Trade School.
Jimmy was always happiest in the presence of good friends and family and while attending stockcar races. He could often be found at Big Diamond, Lincoln Speedway, Williams Grove Speedway, and Selinsgrove, Port Royal Speedway, and Grandview Speedway. He was also a member of the Mechanicsville Fish and Game, former member of Mary Queen of Peace Church, and current member of Saint John the Baptist Church.
Jimmy is preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Jack and Marguerite Pugh and maternal grandparents, Jack and Dot Ryan.
His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family, particularly those of his parents, Donna and Jim; sister, Crystal Pugh; uncles, Michael Ryan and John Ryan Jr., William Pugh, John Pugh; and aunts, Dorothy Ann Ryan and Christine Eagan.
Lord Bixler Funeral Home Inc. will be assisting final arrangements. As per the wishes of the family, Jimmy will be laid to rest during private services at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Church of St. John The Baptist, 913 Mahantango St, Pottsville, PA 17901, and Mechanicsville Fish and Game Association, 925 1 St. Pottsville, PA 1790.
Barbara was born in Pottsville, on September 22, 1932, a daughter of the late Evelyn (Goodman) and Charles Auman.
She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church St. Clair, and enjoyed being a homemaker.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Debbie Peletsky, of Saint Clair and Two sons Joseph Peletsky, of Saint Clair, and David Peletsky, husband of Lori Rausch, of Auburn. She is also survived by Grandson Ayden, a sister, Evelyn, wife of Edward Martin and brother, Charles Auman.
Services are private and entrusted to the Hamilton - Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. in Orwigsburg.
Ronald W James, age 74, of Ridge Road, Pitman, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Penn State Milton S Hershey Medical Center, Hershey.
He was born on Thursday, August 26, 1948, in Millersburg, a son of the late Marlin James and the late Mary (Hoy) James.
He was a 1967 graduate of MIllersburg High School and also graduated from computer tech school in Philadelphia.
Ron served for seven years in the US Air Force as a Staff Sgt and jet engine mechanic, during which he served thirteen months in Vietnam.
He was a machinist for Keystone Reamer and Tool and than retired from Brubaker Tool Co, both of Millersburg.
He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Pitman; where he served on church council, the endowment fund committee, and was a long time Sunday School teacher.
Ron was an EMT with the Mahantongo Valley Ambulance for thirty-nine years until becoming ill.
He loved music and collecting vinyl albums and also enjoyed watching movies.
He was preceded in death by parents, and by a brother, Marlin James.
He is survived by his wife Gloria Irene (Peifer) James, to whom he was married for 47 years.
He is also survived by a son, Jason W James of Pitman; brother, Robert James of Halifax; mother in law, Martha Peifer of Pitman; sister in law, Freda James of Halifax; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at St. James Lutheran Church, Pitman, on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Mark Rothermel officiating.
A viewing will be held from 9:30 am to 11:00 am on Tuesday at St. James Lutheran Church.
Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Rough and Ready.

James Kenney, 62, of Ashland, passed away Friday July 7th at his residence.

Born in Shenandoah on July 24, 1958, he was the son of the late Frank and Bernadette (Robel) Walsh.
Gary was a 1976 graduate of Shenandoah Valley High School. He worked for many years as a truck driver for Mrs. T’s Pierogies. He loved sports, especially the Miami Dolphins, the Boston Red Sox, the Philadelphia 76ers, and his beloved Shenandoah Blue Devils.
The surviving family includes his wife of 42 years, Bridget (Finneran) Walsh, his sister-in-law, Donna Finneran Troutman, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, July 11th from 8 to 10am at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah. Scripture services will be conducted at 10:30am in the funeral home and will be officiated by Msgr. Ronald Bocian. Burial will immediately follow in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
