She was born on September 29, 1936, in Barry Twp, a daughter of Earl Kimmel and Verna Kessler.
Ellen was a former Hegins Twp High School, Class of 1954.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Woodring in 2003; brothers, Harold and Bobby; sisters Wilma Klinger, Arlene Herb, and Carolyn Geist.
Ellen is also survived by a sister, Sandra Fees of Valley View; and a brother, Leonard Kimmel of Frederick, MD; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Thursday July 20, at 2pm, with Rev. Suzanne Elliot officiating.
A viewing will be held from 1pm until the time of service at the funeral home.
Burial will be made in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.

Joan E. Avenoso, 90, former Mahanoy City resident, passed away peacefully Thursday night at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg.
Born in Gilberton, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Violet (Thomas) Evans. She had been employed as a quality control inspector for Morgan Knitting Mills until her retirement.
She was a member of the former St. Canicus Catholic Church where she was a devout member of the choir and is now a member of St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Mahanoy City.
Joan was a 1950 graduate of the former Gilberton High School and was the owner/operator of the former 3 hour Cleaner, Mahanoy City, for several years. She enjoyed spending her free time with her family especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother Thomas Evans, niece Susan Berezwick, grand nephew Keith Berezwick and sisters-in-law Helen Evans and Anna Evans.
Joan is survived by her son Michael and his wife Lisa Avenoso, Barnesville; her daughter Patti wife of Jerry Sechrist, Greencastle; her brother Richard Evans, NJ; three grandchildren; Joseph ( Katie ) Tinninis, Jared ( Sasha ) Tinninis and Thomas ( Kristy ) Avenoso; her four great-grandchildren; Mila, Jordan, Coretta and Ella Tinninis also nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers contributions, in Joan’s name, to the Susan B. and Sgt. Keith T. Berezwick Memorial Education Fund. Former Shenandoah resident Charles B. Cherneski passed away on August 27, 2022 in Gulf Shore, Alabama.
He was born in Shenandoah on March 2, 1936 to the late Bernard Cherneski and Mary (Barney) Cherneski, a Lithuanian immigrant, along with two sisters, Delores and the late Rosemari Zaunder.
He was the son of a coal mining family, upon high school graduation, Charlie enlisted in the United State Navy at 17 years of age. After serving his country for three years and nine months and an honorable discharge, he enrolled at Williamsport Trade School (Penn College) in the Machinist Program.
Charlie would eventually settle in Manville, New Jersey, where he was hired by one of the world’s top Aerospace Engineering Companies, Lockheed Martin. His work ethic, and ability to communicate with fellow employees, led him to head the Union as a steward for 20 years, running unopposed, which he so fairly managed. His tactful ways never went unnoticed, and he later would move into a management position.
While being one of the lead-foreman at Lockheed, Charlie worked on top security projects throughout his illustrious career. After retirement, he returned to Shenandoah to tend to his late ailing mother, before moving to Gulf Shores in 2001 where he spent the remaining years of his life.
He was a hero to his young nieces, nephews and cousins, upon whom he doted, and all cherished every moment with Uncle Charlie. He left smiles wherever he went, and strangers were not strangers for long. His dear friends were friends for life and he would do anything for them. At 86 years of age, many have passed, but those that remain were there to the end, and no truer friends could there be.
A Celebration Of Life was held at the American Legion, Post #44 in Gulf Shores on September 9, 2022 and his local friends and nephews spoke to Charlie’s life. Taps was played by a skilled musician with a WWII bugle.
Charlie is survived by his sister Delores Ann Rydzy of Fayetteville, North Carolina along with a nice and three nephews.
Friends are invited to the Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 South Jardin Street, Shenandoah on Saturday, July 22, 2023 from 9:30 am until 11 am. Interment with military honors will follow at the family plot in Our Lady of Dawn Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. A Celebration of Life will take place following the interment.

Daniel John "Danny" Chuplis, formerly of Shenandoah, passed away Friday, July 14, 2023, at the ReDCo Group Home in Frackville.
Born March 5, 1962, in Shenandoah, he was a son of Anthony R. and Alberta Jean (Johnson) Chuplis.
Danny graduated from Schuylkill Intermediate Unit.
Danny was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Shenandoah.
Danny was very special and will be remembered for his friendly smile and warm hugs. He enjoyed the various programs he attended along with the adult recreation, especially bowling and the dances. He loved to play bingo at the bazaars and the penny auctions at church. He was a good fisherman and even made a trip to Canada.
A special thank you for his caregivers at the Group Home and the Hospice of Central PA team.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his sister-in-law, Judith Ann Chuplis, and his two nephews, Robert and David Chuplis.
Surviving are his brother and caregiver, Anthony "Chipper" Chuplis and his wife, Susie, of Shenandoah; brother, Robert Chuplis, of Girardville; sister, Rita Pritula and her husband, John, of Lost Creek; brother, Richard Chuplis and his wife, Angela, of Wapwallopen; nieces and nephews.
Religious and scripture services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. The Rev. Julian Milewski will officiate. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Dawn Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. A viewing will be held from 8 until 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Lenore A. Tarlecky, age 69, of Shenandoah, passed away on July 13, 2023. She was born on December 17, 1953, in Brandonville, a daughter of the late John and Alberta (Fritz) Hoinski.
Lenore graduated from West Hazleton High School and the Pottsville School of Nursing. She devoted her career to caring for others, working as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the local health care community.
Outside of her work, Lenore found joy in simple pleasures. She enjoyed watching TV and spending time with her beloved pets, both cats and dogs.
Lenore attended St. John's Lutheran Church in Brandonville.
In addition to her parents, Lenore was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Tarlecky, and her son, Joseph T. Tarlecky.
She is survived by her son, Thomas Tarlecky, of Schuylkill Haven. Lenore's memory will be cherished by her surviving grandchildren, Thomas Jr., Rachael, Denny, Samantha, Destrie, Sabryn, Korra, Joseph Jr., Ella, Ava J., along with 10 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her dear sister, Roseanne Hoinski of Hamburg.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the viewing, which will be held from 10-11 AM at the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 West Main Street, Ringtown, followed by a funeral service at 11 AM. Lenore will be laid to rest alongside her husband at the Brandonville Union Cemetery, immediately following the service.
James B. Mason, Jr., 56, of Minersville, passed away Thursday, July 6th, at LVHN Cedar Crest. He was born in Pottsville, Pa. on June 24, 1967, a son of James B. Mason, Sr. and the late Joanne (Haffey) Mason.
Christine Marie McShaw, 60, of St. Clair, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023 at St. Lukes Hospital, Bethlehem. A daughter of the late Rita (Ball) and Warren Hargraves.

He was a graduate of Minersville Area High School. He was Machinist at SAPA/Hydro in Cressona. He was known to many friends and family as “Cricket”.
Jim is survived by two sons Aaron Mason and Nicholas Mason/ He is also survived by his father James B. Mason Sr. and three brothers, William Mason, Michael, husband of Cheryl Mason, and Bruce Mason. Jim is also survived by nieces & nephew. He shall be missed my many who knew him.

She is survived by her husband Brain McShaw, her children, Joseph Powanda, Stacey Powanda and Kevin Hargraves, a grandaughter Isabella Hargraves, two siblings, George Hargraves , Beth Ann Ryan and their families. As well as niecews and nephews.
A graduate of Nativity B.V.N. High School. Christine live in St. Clair most of her life. She was an inspiration to many with her love for life, laughter and optimistic attitude even though she suffered from illness from an early age. She was devoted to her family and relied on the power of prayer and their loving support for strength.
A Celebration of Life will held Thursday, July 20, at 5:00 pm at the Phoenix Park Union Church, with Pastor George Somers officiating.
All are respectfully invited to attend a visitation from 4:00 pm to the time of service.
