Helen W. Hopko, 92, a lifelong resident of Frackville, passed away peacefully Friday morning at the Shenandoah Senior Living Community.
Born in Frackville, she was a daughter of the late Floyd and Margaret Keitsock Wilinsky. She attended Frackville Schools.
She worked as a sewing machine operator for the former Model Garment Factory, Frackville.
Helen was a devout member of St. John the Baptist Polish National Catholic Church, Frackville; and was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Society; she was always available to help with many of the church functions.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters; Dorothy Rice, Frances Hummel, Joan O’Boyle, Mary Wilinsky and Anna Wilinsky; brothers; Floyd, Frank and Joseph Wilinsky.
Helen is survived by a daughter Sharon Hopko, Minersville; a son; Paul Hopko, Frackville; granddaughter; Lori Hopko and great-granddaughter; Amelia Jones; a friend; Larissa Holowaty, Frackville; several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, April 18, 2023, at St. John the Baptist Polish National Catholic Church, Frackville, with Rev. Robert Plichta, pastor, as celebrant. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation Tuesday morning from 9 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Albert L. Gricoski Funeral Home, Frackville. Interment will be in St. John’s Parish Cemetery, Frackville.
In lieu of flowers donation s can be made in Helen’s name to St. John the Baptist Parish Building Fund; 414 W. Oak St., Frackville, PA 17931
David S. Salla, 95, passed away Friday July 14, 2023 at his home in Lansford.
Born in Coaldale March 30, 1928 he was a son of the late Antonio and Rose (Allesch) Salla.
A 1946 graduate of Lansford High School, David enlisted in the United State Marine Corps where is was a Merchant Marine serving in China. He retired as heavy equipment operator working Lisbon Construction in Danboro, PA.
David was a member of St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley,Lansford and the Lansford American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his wife Celestine (Sterusky) Salla in 2009, son Anthony J. Salla in 2019 , brothers Richard, Joseph, Daniel and Francis, sisters Helen Paul, Margaret Robbins, Hannah Castle and Rose Lagendorf.
Surviving are 3 daughters:
Rosemary H. (Salla) Vincent wife of Tim of Coaldale, Christine (Salla) Goidos wife of Don of Stafford, Va. Karen (Salla) Horvath wife of John of Summit Hill,
5 sons:
David A. Salla and his wife Tamara of Summit Hill, Joseph F. Salla and his wife Joanita of Dallas, Pa. Michael D. Salla and his wife Teresa of San Marcos,Texas Vincent J. Salla of Montpelier,Va., Stephen Salla of Dover, Pa.
Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

Service will be private at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be in Sky-View Memorial Park, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.
Ralph J. Negri III, 74, of Kelayres, passed away Saturday morning July 15th at Greenwood Center for Nursing-Hometown.
Born on March 2, 1949 in Hazleton he was the son of the late Clara (Shipper) and Ralph J. Negri Jr.
Ralph was the husband of Mary A. (Shisko) Negri.
He was of the Catholic faith.
Ralph worked most of career as a sandblaster for Pennsylvania Monument Company in Hazle Twp.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 2 nephews Dane and Eddie Horvath.
Ralph is survived by; spouse Mary A. Negri, Kelayres; son Travis Negri (Tracy DaCunha), Freeland; daughter Stacey Hunsinger, Junedale; son Richard Hunsinger, Kelayres; grandchildren Richard and Breann Hunsinger; great grandchildren Silas and Violet Hunsinger; sister Linda Shumgart, Hazleton; nieces and nephews.
Services and interment will be private at Ralph’s request.
