Donald C. Paxson, Jr., 54, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Tuesday, July 18th, at home.
Born in Pottsville on May 17, 1969, he was the beloved son of Donald C. Paxson, Sr. and Jacqueline Ann (Morgan) Paxson, Schuylkill Haven.
Donald was a 1990 graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School, & Schuylkill IU 29.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Summer Hill, Auburn.
Donald had been employed by Avenues Greenhouse, Pottsville for 22 years. He also enjoyed the Avenues Recreational group activities.
Halloween was Donald's favorite holiday, and he loved dressing up in costume. He looked forward to annual family vacations to Canada and swimming in the lake. But his favorite vacation of all time was a trip to Disneyworld that he would still talk about. He loved attending country music shows and would dance with anyone willing to join him. Donald truly enjoyed life to the fullest.
In addition to his devoted parents, Donald is also survived by a sister, Tara A. Heher, wife of Jeffrey, of Schuylkill Haven, a niece, Alexa Marie Heher, and numerous aunts, uncles, & cousins.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Earl Paxson, Sr. & Lena Paxson Rehrer, paternal step-grandfather, Lester Rehrer, maternal grandparents, John & Phyllis Morgan, & maternal great-grandmother, Florence Morgan.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 21st at Geschwindt Stabingas Ebling Funeral Home, Inc., Schuylkill Haven. A visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Interment will follow at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
The family prefers remembrances in the form of contributions to Avenues Foundation, 2 Park St., Pottsville, PA 17901.
Edward A. Turner, Jr., 84, of Wood Lane, Pine Grove, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at home.
Born on July 18, 1938 in Pine Grove, he was a son of the late Edward Sr. and Ruth Dissinger Turner.
Edward was a carpenter and painter and did work for many people and businesses in the Pine Grove area.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed his dog Oscar and spending time with his family
Preceding him in death was his first wife, Nancy A. Turner; a son Todd Turner; two brothers, James Leisey and Robert L. Turner; and a sister, Jeanette Reiner.
Surviving are his wife of 10 years, Betty Schultz Turner; four sons, Dwayne Turner, Jason Turner and Barry Seiders, all of Schuylkill Haven, Edward Turner, III of Tremont; three daughters, Allison Turner of Harrisburg, Michele Turner of Mechanicsburg and Brenda Turner of Kentucky; 15 grandchildren, Tayler and Tyler Routledge, Bryce Ulrich, Ashley and Emily Greeninger, Nathan, Rhiana, Jamyn, Ava, Brayden, Isabel, Kylie, Rylan and Haizlee Turner, and Miah Doud; many great grandchildren including Liam Routledge; his dachshund, Oscar; nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 21, 2023 at Noon at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove, with Pastor Barry Spatz officiating. . There will be a viewing on Friday, July 21, 2023 from 10:00 A.M. until Noon at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Jacob's Lutheran Cemetery, Pine Grove.
Jesse Lee Kimmel, 29, of Tremont, passed away, Monday July 17, 2023 at his home.
Born in Pottsville, May 25, 1994, a son of Valeri Kimmel, Tremont. Jesse was a 2012 graduate of Pine Grove Area High School.
He was employed at Pleasant Valley Homes, Pine Grove.
Jesse could often be found working on cars. He previously owned his own race car.
He was preceded in death by grandfather James Kimmel, whom he missed very much; an aunt, Robin Gibson; great grandparents, Caroline and Roy Hoffman, and Leonard and Margaret Davis.
Surviving are his mother, Valeri Kimmel and her fiancé Mark Searle, Tremont; brother James Kimmel and his wife Kaitlyn, Valley View; his grandmother, Sharon Davis Kimmel, Tremont; two cousins he was very close to Ronald Gibson III and Kaylee Gibson; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins
A Celebration of Jesse's life will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Inc., Tower City.

Ruby E. Reitz, 86, of Vista Road, Klingerstown, passed away Monday, July 17, 2023 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born on Tuesday, April 27, 1937, in Klingerstown, a daughter of Farus and Macie Engle Erdman.
In her early years, Ruby worked at Muskins shoe factory, then became an aide at the Friendly Nursing Home, Pitman, followed by W.T. Storey in Dalmatia. She retired from Michael Foods in 2000. She also enjoyed gardening and camping.
She was a lifetime member of Salem Church of Rough and Ready, and a former member of the Lykens Valley Roamers Camping Club.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband Lamar Reitz in 2017 to whom she was married for 57 years; sons Lynn and Larry Reitz; brothers Emory, Williard, and Clair Erdman; sisters Elsie Keiter, Leda Wolfgang, Vena Hoch, and infant sisters, Diana and Eva Erdman.
She is survived by daughter Lori and husband Kyle of Klingerstown; three grandchildren, Kody, Keli, and Kara Brown; brother, Darwin (Shirley) Erdman of Lykens; four sisters, Violet Kahler of Dornsife, Leona (Nevin) Musick of Halifax, Bernice (Clair) Koppenhaver of Gratz, Elaine (Dean) Dietrich of Klingerstown; brother in law, Dale Wolfgang of Millersburg, sister in law Leah Underkoffler, Mandata.
Services will be held at Salem Church of Rough and Ready, on Monday, July 24, 2023, at 11:00 am with Pastor Mark Mantz officiating.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 am to time of service on Monday at the church.
Burial will be made in Salem Church of Rough and Ready Cemetery.

Wilbur G. Walters, Jr. 71, of Pottsville passed away unexpectedly on Saturday.
Born in Pottsville, July 29, 1951, he was the son of the late Wilbur Sr. and Betty Douglas Walters.
Wilbur attended Pottsville Area High School. He worked throughout his life at the Walk-in Shoe factory in Schuylkill Haven. After it closed, Wilbur worked at Weis Markets in Pottsville.
In his younger years, Wilbur enjoyed hunting. He also loved playing the lottery.
In addition to his parents, Wilbur is preceded in death by his sister Elizabeth Martin, brother Guy Carl Walters, Dennis Walters, and Gary Walters.
Wilbur is survived by his sister Gail Hoffman wife of Ralph of Pottsville, sister Charlotte Collins wife of Mike of Schuylkill Haven, brothers John and Robert Walters both of Pottsville and sister Cindy Walters companion to Jim of Pottsville along with several nieces and nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday at Grabowski Funeral Home Schuylkill Haven. A visitation will be held at 10:00 A.M. until the time of services. Interment will follow on the grounds of Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
John (Chinny) Luchanin, 95, of Minersville, passed away Sunday, July 16th, at Providence Place, Pottsville.
John was born in Blackwood, on June 2, 1928, a son of the late Anna (Fanok) and Wasyl Charlie Luchanin.
He was the widower of Joan (Reno) Luchanin.
He was formerly a Machinist at Extrudo/Exxon. He was a member of the former St. George Ukrainian Orthodox Church as well as Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church.
A Member of the Byzantine Male Choir, & the Choir of St. George Ukr. Orthodox Church. In addition to his parents, and his wife, Joan, he was preceded in death by his Sister, Anna Lapinsky.
Chinny is survived by a son, Gregory, husband of Christine Luchanin, four daughters, Caren, wife of Robert Reichhard, Debra Luchanin, and husband, Justin Meyer, Joanne Luchanin DiCello, and Tanya, wife of George Rubright. A sister, Gloria Anderson
He is also survived by Grandchildren: R.J. Reichhard, Sabrina, George, & Linda Rubright, Matthew DiCello. Great grandchildren; Dason, Kaylee, Tristan, Anna Mae, Darla, & Zak. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Chinny enjoyed life to the fullest, whether traveling the US with his beloved wife Joan, gathering with family and friends, or closely following all of the Philly sports teams. He was often recognized around town as "the guy in the Flyers jacket". With a beautiful bass voice and an ear for harmony, he loved singing in church, with various choirs, on car rides, or for any occasion. He enjoyed passing along to his children his deep pride in his Ukrainian culture and heritage. John will be remembered for his welcoming nature, generous support of underprivileged communities, loyal support of the Phillies, and his great sense of humor. His genuine warmth, quick smile and kind heart will be forever missed. Until we meet again. The family expresses their deep appreciation to the staff of Geisinger St. Luke's ICU team, and most especially to the nurses, aides, medical technicians and the entire staff of Providence Place Pottsville for their compassionate care and loving attention. Thank you for creating a welcoming home for John for the past four months. We are also incredibly grateful to the many family and friends who devoted their time, love and support recently and over the years. You are all angels on Earth.
