Michelle E. Salukas, 43, Girardville passed away on Saturday, July 29th at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest, Allentown with her loving family at her side.
Born in Ashland, she was a daughter of Joseph and Claire (Dando) Salukas of Girardville. She was employed as a clerk for the State Workers Insurance Fund in Pottsville.
Michelle was a 1998 graduate of Cardinal Brennan High School, where she excelled in basketball. She went on to graduate from McCann’s School of Business before entering the workforce.
She was an avid Notre Dame fan and enjoyed trips with her family to South Bend, especially the girl’s trip. She enjoyed the yearly family vacation to the beach with the whole Salukas and Dando families. Relaxing poolside at the family pool, enjoying her time reading, family game nights and crafting with her little monsters were among her favorite things to do.
"Because a promise between friends means never having to give a reason." – Phoebe. Michelle had a heart of gold, a love for the TV show “Friends” and will be sadly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Joseph and Beatrice Salukas; her maternal grandparents, William and Claire Dando and by her beloved dogs Tootsie and Mugsy.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brother Joseph Salukas III and his wife Angie of Gordan; her sister, Jennifer Kowalonek and her husband Stefan, Fountain Springs; her little monsters: Joseph IV and Brady Salukas; Claire, Alyza and Francis Kowalonek; numerous loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 5th from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, 403 W. Main St., Girardville with Rev. Giuseppe Esposito officiating. Friends and family are invited to her visitation on Saturday morning at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Interment will be private.

Glenn W. Kerschner, 90, of Cressona, passed away Monday, July 31st, at Laurel Nursing Home, Hamburg.
Born in Pottsville on May 13, 1933, he was the son of the late Charles and Annie (Keller) Kerschner.
Glenn was the widower of Jane L. (Mengel) Kerschner.
He was a former member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Friedensburg, the Friedensburg Fish & Game, and Camp Roberts Hunting Club, Lycoming County.
Glenn served in the U.S. Army.
He was the former owner of Schuylkill Haven Body & Fender Works.
Glenn is survived by daughters, Kathy, wife of Andy Krammes of Schuylkill Haven, and Christine, wife of Jim Faust, of Leesport; a son-in-law, Denny Gehman, of Mohrsville; grandchildren, Stacey Yeich, Eric Naus, Tyler Faust, Brad Gehman, and Melanie LeRoy, and companion, Dana Strouphauer, Pine Grove, and nieces & nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Glenn is also preceded in death by his daughter, Glenda Gehman, and siblings, Guy Kerschner, Anna Williams, Beatrice Morgan, Catherine Hinnershitz, and Shirley Wolfe.
A private graveside service will be held at the family's convenience.
Raymond Eugene Boxter, 74 of Shenandoah, formerly of Lost Creek #2, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at his residence.
Born at the former Locust Mountain Hospital, Shenandoah Heights on February 22, 1949, he was a son of the late George and Mildred “Millie” (Pusavage) Boxter.
He was a graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.
Raymie was a retired construction worker.
He was of the Catholic Faith and was a member of the former St. George Church, Shenandoah, and the Shenandoah Fish and Game Protective Association, Zion Grove. He was fond of his cats.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were three brothers, George, Joseph and John Boxter and one sister, Millicent “My Honey” Boxter.
Surviving are two daughters, Jacqueline and Raquel of Frackville; two brothers, Edward A. Boxter of Frackville and Nicholas Boxter and his wife Mary of Bernardsville, NJ; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 4, 2023 at 10:00 am in St. Casimir Church, 229 North Jardin Street, Shenandoah with Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor as the celebrant. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Dawn Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. A visitation will be held on Friday morning from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at Saint Casimir Church.

Kathleen A. Davis, of Lake Wynonah, passed away Sunday, July 30th, at home.
Born in Ashland, she was a daughter of the late Owen H. & Elizabeth M. (Wolfgang) Kehler.
She was the widow of John P. Davis, who passed away in August, 2005.
In addition to her parents and husband, Kay is also preceded in death by her daughter, Erin Lynn Davis.
She was a graduate of Immaculate Heart High School, and earned her associates degree from McCann School of Business.
Kay was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven, and Summit Station Hose Company.
Kay had worked as assistant administrator for the former H. B. Alexander, Harrisburg.
She is survived by two daughters: Katie Davis, Auburn; & Jeanine Gross, Northampton; & a son, Johnny-O Davis, Schuylkill Haven, as well as six grandchildren, & five great-grandchildren
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven, with Rev. Msgr. Edward S. Zemanik on Saturday, August 5th. A viewing will be held in the church's chapel from 9:15 AM until the time of mass. Interment will follow at St. Ambrose Cemetery, Cressona.
The family prefers remembrances in Kay's name in the form of contributions to National Kidney Foundation Attn: Gift Processing, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016.
