Minersville Property Owner Faces Theft Charges for Illegally Restoring Water Service

The owner of a property located in Minersville is now under scrutiny as he is confronted with theft charges following allegations that he reinstated water service to his property in violation of regulations.
According to the Minersville Borough Police, on July 6th, 2023, law enforcement officers were involved in an unrelated incident that led them to the premises situated at 435-437 Pleasant Street within the borough.

Upon discovering signs of habitation at the mentioned address, an examination of borough records was conducted, uncovering that the water supply to the property had been officially terminated on July 28th, 2021.

Working closely with borough personnel, the police and borough officials pieced together that the water supply had been reactivated without proper authorization or notification.

The property in question is registered under the ownership of Reilly Mechanical & Construction, an entity overseen by Lance Haluska, a 52-year-old resident of Branchdale.

Investigations have revealed a pattern of negligence spanning the past 2 years, resulting in an accumulation of unpaid fees including $593.08 for water consumption, $747.73 for related charges, and $552.00 designated for sanitation services, totaling $1,892.81 in services stolen.

Subsequently, Minersville Police Officer Joseph Kavanaugh has formally charged Lance Haluska with multiple offenses including theft of services, receiving stolen property, and theft by unlawful taking.

The aforementioned charges have been officially filed through the office of Magisterial District Judge Plachko.
