Harry L. Geissler III, 62, of Pottsville, passed away on August 17, 2023 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born in Pottsville Pennsylvania, on May 30, 1961, he was the son of the late Harry and Elizabeth (Bickert) Geissler.

Harry worked as a manager at GNC and then worked as an registered nurse for over 10 years at the Reading Hospital.

He is survived by his daughter, Victoria P. Geissler, of Bloomsburg, and a cousin, David Meyer.

Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home is honored to handle private services for Harry’s family during their time of need.

William M. Liptok, Sr.
, 78, of Pottsville, passed away on Sunday afternoon in Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest, Allentown.

Born in Pottsville, on May 24, 1945, he was a son of the late John and Anna (Carroll) Liptok.

He was a 1963 graduate of Pottsville High School.

William was employed as a Director at Schuylkill County Public Works for 20+ years, retiring in 2016.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sister, Irene Hart and brothers: John and Karl Liptok.

William is survived by his wife, Lorraine (Zeiler) "Dolly" to whom he was married 59 years; sons: William M. Liptok, Jr. widower of Lori, of St. Clair; David J. Liptok, husband of Dana J., of Blandon; sister, Madeline Lesniak, wife of John , of NJ; grandchildren: Kirstie, wife of Chris Ward; Jennifer, Rebecca, Nicholas, and Chase; great granddaughter, Ava; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 26th , at 11:00 a.m. at Lord-Bixler Funeral Home, Inc., 1818 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, with Deacon Larry Lonergan officiating. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Interment will follow in St. John's No. 2 Cemetery, Pottsville.

Lord-Bixler Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.

Regina V. Hertz
, 88, of Pottsville formerly of St. Clair, died Friday August 18, 2023, at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

She was the wife of Andrew Hertz, to whom she was married 67 years, Feb. 4.

Born in Pottsville, March 30, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Eugene Sullivan and Stephanie (Wapinsky) Sullivan- Zager.

She attended Mary Queen of Peace school and Pottsville High School. She was employed as a presser in the garment industry until her retirement. She worked at St. Michael’s Catering in St. Clair for several years.

She was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church until the closing. She was then a member of St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, St. Clair, where she was active in her church belonging to the Ladies Guild and was a member of the church choir.

She loved Polka music and country music. She enjoyed doing word searches and was a great cook. She loved spending time with her family and helped raise her 3 oldest great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by 2 brothers James and John Sullivan.

Surviving are her husband Andrew; 2 daughters, Cynthia wife of Richard Neade of St. Clair; Andrea wife of Mark Witalka of Peru, IL; 4 grandchildren Jolie Witalka, Keith Witalka; Korey Witalka, and Kelly Witalka, 8 great-grandchildren, Amaree Bainbridge, Juleon Bainbridge, Azarea Bainbridge, Jastun Witalka, Aidan Witalka, Oliva Witalka, Charlotte Witalka and Greyson Smith; nieces and nephews

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday August 23, 2023 at 10:30 AM from St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 250 E. Hancock Street, St. Clair. The Rev. Msgr. William F. Glosser will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Clare of Assisi Memorial Fund at the above address. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

Mary L. ( Heiser) Kutz
, 89, of Pine Grove, passed away Saturday, August 19th, peacefully, at her residence, at Providence Place.

Mary was born in Orwigsburg on November 15, 1933, a daughter of the late Sadie (DeLong) and Paul F. Heiser.

She was the widow of John G. Kutz. They were married 34 years before his death in 2020. She was also preceded in death by her first husband Clifford Guy Boyer in 1980, they were married 26 years. Mary was a member of First United Methodist Church Schuylkill Haven and worked as a Machine Operator in the textile industry. Later in life she also worked at Berger’s Store, in Pine Grove, stocking shelves. In addition to being a homemaker, she enjoyed hunting, especially fox hunting. She raised foxhounds with her late husband John. She also enjoyed bingo, listening to Gene Autry and loved Elvis Presley. She was known to be a very good cook and baker and made a great apple pie.

Mary is survived by her two daughters, Linda, wife of Gary Leibensperger, Jayne, widow of Frank Wagner and her son, Dale Boyer, widower of Leo Eisenhart. Mary is also survived by her 4 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and her nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her daughter Debbie Boyer, sisters Marion Foose, Betty Sadusky, Joan Moyer and brother Paulie Heiser

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 14th at Hamilton - Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. in Orwigsburg, with Rev. Dr. Christopher Fisher officiating. Memorial Gathering will begin at 9:00 AM.

Paul Francis Pekarik, Jr.
, age 81, of Pottsville, PA passed away Thursday, August 17th, 2023, surrounded by loving family at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Allentown.

Paul is also known to family and friends by many names, including; Paulko, Chew-tabacca, Paulie and his favorite, Popsy.

Born in Minersville, PA on November 26, 1941, he was the son of the late Paul F. and Catherine (McClusky) Pekarik.

Paul worked hard as a welder, first at Parish Steel and then for Reading Anthracite until retirement. He was a member of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church in New Philadelphia.

Those who knew Paul best will remember him for his welcoming, generous spirit, and brilliant sense of humor. He always held an open door, a listening ear, a comfortable chair, a cold drink, and a perfect joke for anyone who needed it, regardless of time and circumstance, and he brought together people from all walks of life in a loving community. He left an indelible mark on everyone whose life he touched.

In addition to his parents, he will join in Heaven with his infant son Paul Pekarik (1961) and son Paul F. Pekarik IV (2019).

Paul is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 63 years, Diane L. (Shollenberger) Pekarik, Pottsville and three sons, his pride and joy: John "Jack" Pekarik and his wife Virginia “Ginny”, Christopher "Chris" Pekarik and his wife Kimberly “Kim”, and David Bobowski and his wife Kim. He is remembered and cherished by five grandchildren, Molly Fry and her husband Luke, Audrey and Claire Pekarik, and Christopher and Kaitlyn Pekarik, and a beloved great-granddaughter Eleanor Fry; two sisters, Kathleen Foran, Kentucky and Louise Webber, Pottsville; a brother John Pekarik, Minersville; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8pm at the Robert A Evans Jr Funeral Home in Port Carbon, which will conclude with Paul’s Celebration of Life services at the Funeral Home.

Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Services for Sight, Conyngham, PA.

Danny E. Keim
, 69, of Walnut Street, Ashland, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born in Burke County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Fred and Bonnie Robinette Keim. He attended North Schuylkill High School, later serving with the U.S. Army in Germany during the Vietnam War. Danny specialized as a Grenade and M16 rifle expert, receiving the National Defense Service Medal. He worked as an assembler of doors and windows at Jeld Wen Manufacturing, Ringtown, until his retirement. Dan was a member of V.F.W. Post 7654, Ashland. Preceding him in death was his wife Bonnie Neumeister Keim, passing in February 9, 2021.

Son: Denny Keim and his companion Chrystal Saga-Blass, Shamokin

Granddaughters: Sara Ringo and Emma Keim

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend a graveside Celebration of Life funeral service, with Army military honors, August 28, 2023, at 1 PM., in the Barry Salem Methodist Church Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Rose Marquardt.
