A Lackawanna County man is locked up in Schuylkill County Prison on murder charges after an incident Wednesday evening.
Upon arriving at scene and investigating, law enforcement officials determined that Mark T. Boyle, 35, of West Penn Township, had been deliberately struck by a triaxle truck.
Boyle was rushed to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest Campus, where his injuries ultimately proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
The accused, identified as Michael Albert, a 60-year-old resident of Scranton, was apprehended and now faces a slew of charges in connection with the incident. Among the charges filed against Albert are Murder in the 3rd Degree, Aggravated Assault, Homicide by Vehicle, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, and Theft of Services.
Albert was brought before on-call Magisterial District Justice Edward Tarentelli for arraignment. As a result of the severity of the charges, he has been remanded to the Schuylkill County Prison, where he will remain in custody without bail.
