UPDATE: A wanted fugitive that fled police along Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County late Thursday was apprehended by Troopers on Friday morning.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police, on Thursday, August 3rd, 2023, around 7:10pm, Troopers from the Jonestown barracks encountered 36-year-old Jeremy Hunter on I-81 in the area of mile marker 100.8, in Pine Grove Township.
Hunter was found to have full extradition warrants out of Georgia and Alabama.
Upon attempting to take Hunter into custody, he was able to evade capture by fleeing over the guide rail of I-81 Northbound into the woods in the area of Oak Grove Road.
State Police used helicopters and searched the area but were unable to find the suspect.
Hunter was taken into at an unknown location in the Pine Grove area on Friday morning by troopers from the Schuylkill Haven Barracks.
Additional charges are pending against Hunter. More details when information is available.
