Pottsville native Travis Blankenhorn will make his return to the Major Leagues Friday night.
Blankenhorn, who has been making a name for himself while playing Triple A baseball for the Rochester Red Wings, got the call up Friday and will be on the starting lineup for the Washington Nationals' game against the Miami Marlins.
As of Friday afternoon, he was schedule to play left field and bat fifth in the lineup.
This isn't his first time playing in the majors. He was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in 2015 and made his MLB debut with the team in 2020. He was then claimed off waivers by the New York Mets in 2021 and played 23 games with them and later signed a minor league contract in December 2022 with the Washington Nationals.
