Charges Pending Against Pottsville Man for Fleeing Frackville Police on Motorcycle

Charges are pending against a Pottsville man after he fled Frackville Police on a motorcycle last month.
According to Frackville Police Chief Paul on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, Frackville Police Officer Briann Reno found himself in a high-speed pursuit of a motorcycle operator who fled after an attempted vehicle stop in the 400 block of Pine Street.

The motorcycle, which lacked a visible registration plate, eluded capture after a short chase through borough streets.

Officer Reno initiated the vehicle stop by activating his patrol vehicle's emergency warning lights and audible siren when he noticed the unregistered black motorcycle. However, instead of complying, the motorcycle's operator accelerated away from police. As Officer Reno followed the motorcycle, it reached speeds more than 20 mph over the posted limit, weaving through multiple travel lanes, and even passing other vehicles on the wrong side of the roadway.

The motorcycle rider managed to evade police and Officer Reno backed off of the pursuit.

Officer Reno would later see the same motorcycle on Sunday, September 10 in the city of Pottsville around 5:00pm, recognizing the same operator, still donning a distinctive camouflage jacket, black helmet, and black backpack.

The rider of the motorcycle would be identified as 25-year-old Kydiere Teel, of Pottsville.

Officer Reno assisted the Pottsville Police, led by Cpl. Randolph, in locating and apprehending Teel.

Upon questioning, Teel admitted to fleeing from the police during the earlier incident, citing he was scared because he was aware the motorcycle was not legal.

As a result of his actions, charges are pending against Teel, including fleeing or eluding the police, along with various other vehicle code violations.
