A man was transported to the hospital Tuesday morning after a crash near Mahanoy City.
Around 6:40am, Tuesday, emergency personnel were called to the area of 180 Vulcan Hill Road in Mahanoy Township for a motor vehicle accident with entrapment.
The crash involved a tri-axle truck that collide with a Jeep Renegade at the intersection of Route 54 and Morea Road.
Emergency personnel from Mahanoy City responded to the scene and rescued the driver of the Jeep, who was entrapped in the vehicle.
After being cut from the vehicle, the victim was transported to an area hospital via ambulance with unknown injuries. A medical helicopter was requested but denied due to foggy weather conditions in the area.
Responding to the scene were the West End Fire and Rescue from Mahanoy City, Ryan Township EMS, and Shenandoah ALS.
