Thousands of homes are without power on Thursday afternoon in Schuylkill County.
As of 4:00pm, Thursday, PPL reports that 6,391 homes are without power after storms pushed through the county with heavy rains, winds, and lightning strikes.
Downed trees, power lines, utility poles, and a brush fire were reported.
The majority of the outages are reported to be in the Norwegian Township/Minersville/Pottsville area. A large outage is also reported in the Gordon area, as well as another outage in West Penn Township.
PPL reports that power is expected to be restored by 10:00pm, Thursday.
