Schuylkill County got a taste of Germany this past weekend during Pottsville's Oktoberfest.
Pottsville, nestled in the heart of the coal region, came alive with the sights and sounds of Germany this past weekend as it hosted an Oktoberfest celebration. Sponsored by the Pottsville Business Association, this event marked its 3rd Anniversary as it welcomed residents and visitors to a day filled with fun, food, and festivities.
The heart of the celebration was the mesmerizing performance by "Good Times Live," a renowned German band hailing from the Philadelphia area. Their authentic Oktoberfest music transported attendees straight to Bavaria, creating an atmosphere of merriment and camaraderie.
Centre Street in Downtown Pottsville was transformed into a bustling hub of activity, with a delightful array of food trucks and local artisans lining the streets.
And for those looking for an unconventional way to release some stress, a mobile rage room was also available, offering a novel experience. Henna artists were also on-hand.
A highlight of the event was the presence of the iconic Yuengling Brewery, which added a local touch to the festivities. Inside the beer garden, a selection of Yuengling beers flowed from the taps, including the much-anticipated Yuengling Oktoberfest, perfect for celebrating the season. For those seeking lighter options, Yuengling Flight and Yuengling Light Lager were also on offer, ensuring there was something for every beer enthusiast.
Miss Dolly Trolley provided convenient transportation from the event to the Yuengling Brewery for brewery tours. This allowed attendees to learn about the rich brewing history that has made Pottsville famous.
