Animal Encounter Leads to Dramatic Collision on West Market Street
On Sunday, September 24th, 2023, members of the Pottsville Bureau of Police were dispatched to the 1100 block of West Market Street for a motor vehicle accident.A Subaru Crosstrek, operated by Julia Brinich, was traveling East Bound on West Market Street when animal crossed the street shortly after she had crossed the West Market Street and 12th Street intersection.
Brinich swerved to miss the animal. This caused her to hit a legally parked Audi Q7. The Audi was then pushed into a utility pole.
Both vehicles had severe damage and were towed from the scene. There were no injuries as a result of this accident and the investigation is continuing.

Speed to Blame for Rollover Crash in Cass Township
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville this crash occurred on Monday, September 25th, 2023, around 5:45am, as a Ford Fusion, driven by Ali Farhat, 19, of Minersville, was traveling south Highridge Park Road just north of Valley Road in Cass Township.
Troopers say Farhat was trave1ing too fast for the road conditions and lost control of his vehicle.
At this point Farhat's vehicle exited its lane of travel and went over the fog line. Farhat then crashed into an embankment off the right shoulder and overturned. His vehicle came to final rest on its roof partially in the southbound lane.
Said impact caused disabling damage to the vehicle and was towed from the scene.
Farhat was transported to a local hospital for suspect minor injuries. Farhat was cited as a result of the crash.

No Injuries Reported in Blythe Township Crash on Route 209
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville this crash occurred on Monday, September 25th, 2023, around 12:30pm on Route 209 in Blythe Township just west of the intersection with Coal Street.
Troopers say Martha Dibuo, 63, of Barnesville, was traveling west on Route 209 when she lost control on a left curve and crossed over the eastbound lane and struck a guide rail. Her Chevrolet Trail Blazer crossed back into the westbound lane and came to a stop on the should.
No injuries were reported. Dibuo will be cited for the crash.
