Born in Pottsville on September 18, 1949, he was a son of the late Mildred (Marcinik) Carey.
He was the widower of Kathleen M. (Lassandro) Carey, who passed away December 9, 2021.
He is also preceded in death by his son, Bruce Carey, and brother, Paul Carey.
Bruce was a 1968 graduate of Pottsville High School.
He served for 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, retiring in 1988. Following his military retirement; Bruce had been employed by Tamaqua Cable Products, Schuylkill Haven.
He was a member of the Schuylkill Valley Corvette Club.
Bruce is survived by two sisters, Nancy Piel, of Delaware; & Peggy, wife of Curt Parrish, of Maryland, brothers, Walter, husband of Patricia Carey, of Orwigsburg; David, husband of Debi Carey, of Maryland; James Carey, of Florida, & Buddy Noel, of New Bloomfield; and nieces & nephews.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM at Geschwindt Stabingas Ebling Funeral Home, Inc., Schuylkill Haven, on Monday, September 11th. A viewing will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of service.
Interment will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

Paul E. Schlear, Jr., 73, of Auburn, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family Wednesday September 6th.
Paul was born in Pottsville, on February 5, 1950, a son of the late Jane L. (Kimmel) and Paul Edward Schlear, Sr.
He was the husband of Deborah Ann (Washuta) Schlear. They were married on November 4th, 1972.
Paul graduated from Blue Mountain High School, Class of 1969. He also attended Penn State.
He worked as a Traffic manager and spent most of his career at Stanley Flagg in Stowe, PA.
He was an avid Fisherman. He recently enjoyed his trips to Black Lake, NY, with his long time best friend Jim. Paul enjoyed art and was a talented painter himself.

In addition to his wife, Deb, of 51 years, Paul is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Bainbridge, wife of Jamie and his son, Jeremy Schlear, husband of Corinne. Paul's grandchildren are Hayle, Kyle and Ethan Bainbridge; Delaney and Tegan Schlear.
Paul is also survived by four brothers, Yon Schlear, Christopher Schlear, widower of Anne, David Schlear, husband of Jeannette, Kevin Schlear, husband of Beverly.
He was predeceased by his brother Randy Schlear.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, September 15th at Hamilton - Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. in Orwigsburg. Memorial gathering will begin at 10:00 AM.
Interment will at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Cemetery, Pottsville.
Lori A. Schneider, 57, of Hegins passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, following a hard-fought, courageous battle with breast cancer.
Born in Pottsville, August 28, 1966, a daughter of Bonnie Yoder and her husband Archie, Tower City, and the late Lyle Miller.
Lori was a genuinely beautiful soul. Her kindness and loving nature was felt by all who knew her. She was truly a sweetheart. She was also very determined and was a hard worker, always working on something before her cancer diagnosis. Lori also enjoyed crocheting, creating plastic canvas art, dancing, and just having a good time.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a grandson Jayden Klinger.
Surviving in addition to her mother and stepfather are her husband, Gary Schneider; three children, Kayla Klinger, Hegins, Tyler Klinger (Courtney Eiseler), Hegins, and Justin Klinger, Valley View; a stepdaughter, Samantha Schneider, Pottsville; a sister, Nicole Moser (Troy), Saint Clair; eight grandchildren she adored, Summer, Landen, Justin Jr., Penelope, Adrianna, Zara, Aurora, and Greyson; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Celebration of Lori's life will be held Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Tower City with Pastor Krista Keisling officiating. Visitation will be held from 10-11 at the chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dimon Funeral Home, 644 E Grand Ave., Tower City, PA 17980, to help with expenses.
