Two Frackville women are facing retail theft charges after they were caught stealing over $400 worth of items from Boyers Food Markets.
According to Frackville Police, on Saturday, September 16, 2023, around 2:15pm, Boyer's Food Market Manager came to the Frackville Police Station to report a retail theft that had just occurred.
The manager stated that two females left the store with a shopping cart full of merchandise that they did not pay for. The manager stated that they were last seen pushing the cart east on Oak Street.
While canvassing the area, Frackville Police Officer Brian Reno observed two females in the Unit block of South Birch Street with a shopping cart. The females were observed attempting to conceal the items inside bags that were gray in color. Contact was made with the two who were known to Officer Reno from prior contacts as being Ebony Robertson, 31, and Rhakeira Williams, 25, both of Frackville. Both admitted to taking the items because they were hungry.
Items located in the cart ranged from food to pet supplies. Some of the food items included clams and jumbo crab legs. Additionally, inside Robertson's backpack Officer Reno located 2 lobster tails and several containers of alcohol.
All merchandise was returned to Boyer's and a total of all items taken was provided. The total amount of merchandise taken by the pair was $409.90.
A criminal complaint was filed charging both Ebony Robertson and Rhakeira Williams with one count of misdemeanor retail theft and one count of conspiracy to commit retail theft.
