Schuylkill County motorists should prepare for upcoming road work projects that will temporarily impact travel in various areas this week.
North Manheim Township
Motorists are advised to be aware of lane restrictions and flagging operations on Tumbling Road in North Manheim Township and Blythe Township. Beginning on Monday, September 25th, 2023, PennDOT Maintenance Forces will be conducting milling and paving work between Route 61 and New Philadelphia Road.
These daytime restrictions will be in place from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM and are expected to conclude by September 29, 2023.
Interstate 81
PennDOT Maintenance Forces will be conducting bridge repair work on Interstate 81, affecting the section between Exit 124 (PA 61) and Exit 134 (Delano). Lane restrictions in both directions will be in place from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM starting on September 25th, with the project anticipated to conclude by September 28, 2023. Motorists should anticipate delays and plan for alternative routes during these hours.
New Ringgold
In New Ringgold Borough, PennDOT Maintenance Forces will conduct paving work on PA 443 between Koch Street and Railroad Avenue starting on September 27, 2023. During this time, lane restrictions with flagging operations will be in effect from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The project is expected to be completed by September 28, 2023.
