Blue Mountain High School "Eagle" Marching Band

MEET THE SCHUYLKILL COUNTY MARCHING BANDS is back, highlighting the Marching Bands from our Schuylkill County School Districts.  Next to be featured for the 2023 season is the marching band from Blue Mountain, directed by Chris Evans.

Where:  Blue Mountain High School - Orwigsburg, PA

Number of Musicians: 61

Number of Band Front/Color Guard: 8

Makeup of Band: 7th Grade through 12th Grade

Band Staff:

Director Chris Evans has been a band director for 24 years (15 Blue Mountain, 7 Schuylkill Haven, 1 Line Mountain, 1 Panther Valley).

This year’s program is titled "Stars" which includes the songs All-Star, Sky Full of Stars, Starships, Counting Stars. The field show concept was designed by senior Avery Setlock.

Goals for 2023:  Director Evans says "Blue Mountain is looking at moving away from the competitive program that had been in place for many years and gearing our future goals to growth, fun, and inclusion for all. We have more student athletes involved in the program this year than ever before."

Major Events Schedule for 2023:

In addition to football games, the band performed in the Schuylkill County Fireman's Convention Parade, the Orwigsburg Halloween Parade, the North Schuylkill Tournament of Bands Competition, the Tournament of Band Region 2 Championships, and in the spring will travel to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, TN.
