MEET THE SCHUYLKILL COUNTY MARCHING BANDS is back, highlighting the Marching Bands from our Schuylkill County School Districts.  Next to be featured for the 2023 season is the marching band from Pottsville Area, directed by Katelyn Reichard.

Director Katelyn Reichard has been a band director for 5 years, 3 as DHHL Middle School Band Director, 2 as DHHL Middle School Music Teacher/Choir Director, 1 year as Tri-Valley Elementary Band Director 

The PAHS Marching Band prepares two shows for the local audiences which include their Halftime Show and Traditional Pre-Game Show (since 1974). 

The theme for their Halftime Show is Latin Magic which includes “24K Magic” by Bruno Mars, “El Cumbanchero” by Rafael Hernandez,” “Novus” by Santana, and “Montero (Call Me By Your Name) by Lil Nas. 

The traditional Pre-Game Show includes this year’s selections, “Bully” by Shinedown and “Born To Be Wild” by Steppenwolf, our established PAHS fight songs, “Hail to the Varsity,” Notre Dame,” and “Our Boys Will Shine Tonight,” and finally the Traditional Script Tide to “March Grandioso,” the “Alma Mater” and our “National Anthem.”

Goals for 2023: The Pottsville Area High School Marching Band members and staff are looking forward to our upcoming season. The band is very excited to showcase the hard work and dedication of our students that signify the history and tradition of this marching band. This year, we are thrilled to include more students who are also involved in athletic sports. Collaboration with coaches/advisors was key to allowing our students participate in every club, sport, and group. We look forward to transferring our skills from our marching band season into our concert band season.

Major Events Schedule for 2023:

In addition, for our performances at the football games, the band performed in the Schuylkill County Fireman's Convention Parade, New Philadelphia Fall Festival Parade, St. Clair Halloween Parade, Pottsville Halloween Parade, traveling to Orlando, Florida to perform/march down Main Street of Magic Kingdom in the Festival of Fantasy Parade in February 2024, Pottsville St. Patrick's Day Parade, and several Memorial Day Parades.
