Born in Coaldale on October 11, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Edward, Sr. and Martha (Chabinak) Marasiak. Michele had been employed by the former J.E. Morgans Knitting Mill in Hometown. She was a member of the former St. Mary Catholic Church, Coaldale.
Michele is survived by brothers, John Marasiak of Coaldale and Robert Marasiak of Parryville and former sister-in-law, Annette Nowacki of Tamaqua.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Edward Marasiak, Jr. Services will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, October 26, 202, at the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua with The Rev. Robert George officiating. Call Noon to 1 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley, 462 West Ludlow Street, Summit Hill, PA 18250.
Arrangements are being handled by the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Tamaqua.
Robert "Bob" N. Sonnon, Jr., 57, of Minersville, passed away Friday, October 20th, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Schuylkill, E. Norwegian St., Pottsville.
Born in Pottsville on July 12, 1966, he was the son of Patricia (Barnes) and Robert N. Sonnon, Sr.
Bob was the husband of Kimberly M. (Jones) Sonnon.
After graduation from Pottsville High School in 1984, he enlisted in the U.S. Army.
Bob was employed at Prysmian, Schuykill Haven.
He was of the Catholic Faith.
Bob was a member of the Whippoor Will Sportsman Club.
In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by four sons, Jason, Matt, Josh, Ryan, and a daughter, Rachel. He is also survived by a brother, Billy, husband of Shoanna Sonnon; step children, Alanis and Cassandra; and 21 grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, October 27th at Geschwindt Stabingas Ebling Funeral Home, Inc., Schuylkill Haven, with Janet Wilson officiating. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 AM until the time of service.
Thomas L. (Tucker) Devitt, 85, of Pottsville, passed away on Wednesday evening in his residence surrounded by his family.
Born in Pottsville, on April 30, 1938, he was a son of the late Thomas and Lorraine (Joy) Devitt.
He was a 1956 graduate of Pottsville High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy.
Tucker worked as a laborer at the former Reading Tube, now Cambridge Lee, for 25 years, retiring in 2018.
He was an avid sports fan, but especially active in following local high school sports.
Thomas is survived by: two daughters, Doreen A. Devitt, of Pottsville; Pamela E. DeFalco, wife of Anthony, of Minersville; son, Eric J. Devitt, of Pottsville; brother, Garrett Devitt, husband of Annette, of Pottsville; several nieces and nephews; and Patricia E. (Pecovich) Devitt.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 26th at 9:30 a.m. at Lord-Bixler Funeral Home, Inc., 1818 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, with Deacon Jack Quirk officiating. A visitation will be held at 8:30 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home.
Interment with military honors will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

Anne M. Joyce, 78, of Lenape Court, Pine Grove, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.
Born on July 10, 1945 in Butler Township, PA., she was a daughter of the late John and Isabelle Eagan Coddington and was raised in Centralia, PA.
She was a 1963 graduate of Mt. Carmel Catholic High School and a graduate of McCann School of Business.
Anne was a Mortgage Banker for Home Security Mortgage while raising two children with her faithful husband of 56 years in Stafford, VA.
She was a member of Senior Corps/Retired Seniors Volunteer Program of Schuylkill County, a Volunteer on the Rehab floor of the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Schuylkill East in Pottsville, and part of the Knitting and Crocheting group in Ashland.
Preceding her in death was a sister Mary Umlauf.
Surviving her are husband, Charles P. Joyce; a son, Charles Jr. and wife Allison of Baltimore, MD.; a daughter, Jennifer Joyce and companion Ron Griffin of Alexandria, VA; a sister, Colleen Dzwonczyk of New Freedom, PA; two brothers, Joe Coddington of Pine Grove, PA and John Coddington of Harrisburg, PA; three grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 12:30 P.M. at Most Blessed Trinity Parish, 113 Cherry St., Tremont with Father George Kochuparambil officiating. There will be a visitation on Thursday, October 26, 2023 from 11:30 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. at the Church. Interment will follow in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.

George R. Schenck, 80, of Pottsville, died Monday October 16, 2023, at Rosewood Nursing and Rehab, Schuylkill Haven
Born in Pottsville, April 26, 1943, He was a son of the later Robert and Helen (Long) Schenck.
George served in the US Navy, after which he worked for the Pottsville Parking Authority.
He was a member of Four Square Gospel Church, Pottsville, and a lifetime member of Yorkville Hose Co.
He was preceded in death by a son Stephen Schenck; Sister Patricia McCabe.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years Mary (Ebert) Schenck; a son George E. Schenck and his wife Maureen of Cumbola; Stepson James J. Stepen Jr. and his wife Jenn of Schuylkill Haven; Step-daughter Jessica M. Dasch of Pottsville; 8 Grandchildren; 3 Great-grandchildren.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday October 24, 2023 from Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, 60 Indiantown Gap Road, Annville, PA 17003.
Eileen D. Whery, 85, Ashland passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, October 19th.
Born in Ashland, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Rhodes and Lois Taylor.
Eileen was the head of housekeeping at Broad Mountain Nursing Home, Frackville and later worked as a home health aide until her retirement. Taking care of others was her passion including her loving family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Eileen enjoyed baking, crafting with her sister, trips to the casino and lottery scratch-offs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Joan Thomas.
She is survived by her two children: Kathy Farrone and her husband Joseph H., Ashland ; John Carr and his wife Dawn, Danville; her six grandchildren: Joseph Farrone and his wife Chantel; Anne Warner and her husband Eric; Elana Fells and her husband Brandon; David John Carr and his wife Rachel; Jack C. Diminick and Ashley Diminick; her great-grandchildren: Savanah, Joseph, Aden, Avery, Lexi, Luca, Luna, Lillian, Liam, Brooklyn and Kelsey.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Ann B. Tihansky, 81, of Pine Grove, died Monday, October 2, at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville, PA. Born October 26, 1941, in Pottsville, Ann was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Hulda Kangas Boltz.
Ann was a graduate of Pottsville High School and studied nursing after graduation. Ann spent many years working in local schools as an instructor and substitute school nurse.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Theodore Tihanksy, sister, Bonnie Jean Wetzler and brothers Benjamin Boltz and Peter Boltz. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Ann was a lover of nature and served on the board of the Sweet Arrow Lake Conservation Association. Ann found joy in her friendships, family and rooting on the Penn State Nittany Lions football team.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family at Charles Baber Cemetery, Pottsville. Arrangements are under the care of James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville.
