Louise T. Martinelli
, 93, of Shenandoah, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023, at the Shenandoah Senior Living Community.

Born in Sheppton on October 4, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Bertha (Ryncavich) Reitmeyer.

Louise had worked in the local garment industry and as a cook for the Hazleton Area School District. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Modesto Martinelli.

Surviving family includes 2 sons – John Martinelli with Sandra of Weston and James Martinelli with Kim of Oneida; a daughter – Pamela Martinelli with Mike Stinsky of Shenandoah; a brother – Louis Reitmeyer of Florida; a sister – Eleanor Diquisto of Allentown; 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, October 30th from 8:30 to 10:30am at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah. Scripture services will be conducted at 10:30am by Fr. Dominic Pham. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Sheppton.

William J. Verbish, 81, of Walnut Street, Ashland, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at his residence. Born in Locustdale, February 21, 1942, he was the son of Joseph and Carrie Rushow Verbish. He graduated from the former Butler Township High School, Fountain Springs, class of 1959. After high school, Bill served in the U.S. Air Force as a Medical Administration Specialist at the Fort Sheppard Air Force Base Hospital in Texas, until his discharge. After his service time, he was employed by the Army as a computer operator at Fort Indiantown Gap, and later for the Department of the Navy as a Computer Analyst at Mechanicsburg. He belonged to the former St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, now St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Parish, Ashland. Preceding him in death was a sister Rose Verbish and brothers, Raymond and Joseph Jr. Verbish.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Mass of Christen Burial, October 30, 2023, at 10 AM, in St. Charles Borromeo Parish Church, 11th and Walnut Streets, Ashland. Celebrant will be Rev. Giuseppe C. Esposito, pastor. Interment with Air Force Honors will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Fountain Springs. A viewing will begin in the church at 9 AM until service. Martha M. Gomber
, 95, of Bethlehem and formerly of McAdoo, passed away Wednesday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg.

Born in Jeansville, she was the daughter of the late George and Anna Belusko. She was a former member of Church of All Saints and the Prime Timers Club, McAdoo.

Martha was a talented seamstress and an excellent dancer. Over the years, she enjoyed going to many dances with her husband and friends. Martha loved to travel and to be surrounded by her family. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, and will be sadly missed.

Preceding her in death were her husband Joseph T. Gomber; siblings Agnes Lohenitz, Thomas Belusko, and Anna Repko.

Surviving are her son Joseph J. Gomber and wife Collette, daughters Deanne Blocki and husband David, all of Bethlehem, and Lee Phillips and husband Kevin, Deerfield Beach, FL; sister Pauline Kashi, Moosic; grandchildren Justin, Kennedy, Gregory, Kayla, and Courtney; nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Oct. 30, at 11 a.m. in Church of All Saints, McAdoo. Interment in St. Mary of the Assumption Cemetery, McAdoo. Calling hours Monday 9-10:30 a.m. at the Damiano Funeral Home, Inc., McAdoo.

Maureen Fitzpatrick
, 74, of Branchdale, passed away Thursday October 26, 2023, surrounded by her family.

Born in Cressona , July 19, 1949, She was a daughter of the late Paul A. Bittle and Cecelia (O’Neill) Bittle.

She was a 1967 graduate of Nativity BVM High School.

Maureen was a dedicated mother and grandmother, but also worked as a teacher at St. Patrick School, Pottsville and Eifert’s Outgrown Outlet, Cressona.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother Paul P. Bittle.

Surviving are her husband of 53 years Thomas Fitzpatrick; 3 sons Timothy Fitzpatrick and his wife Judy of Branchdale; Shawn Fitzpatrick and his wife Kirstin of Lake Wynonah; Thomas “TJ” Fitzpatrick and his wife Laura of Reedsville; 2 daughters Tammy Chipriano and her husband Joseph of Reedsville; Shawna Hart husband Joshua of St. Clair; sister Paulette Commings of Reedsville. 16 Grandchildren Timothy Fitzpatrick, Kailyn Breslin, Dakota Fitzpatrick, Shawn Fitzpatrick Jr., Kevin Fitzpatrick, Taylor Fitzpatrick, Cecilia Chipriano, Sophia Chipriano, Gianna Chipriano, Oliva Chipriano, Joey Chipriano, Teagan Hart, Declan Hart, Deacon Hart, Mack Fitzpatrick and Macy Fitzpatrick; 4 Great Grandchildren Ava, Finley, Everly and Baby Breslin; Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday October 30,, 2023 from Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home, 110 North Second Street St. Clair. PA 17970. Friends may call from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the funeral home . In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hosptial, 501 St. Jude Pl. Memphis, TN 38105. Burial will be private in St. Mary Star of the Sea Cemetery, Llewellyn.
