William “Shaggy” Rosenberger, 78, Port Carbon passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 29th at the home of his daughter, Terry.Born in Port Carbon, he was a son of the late Albert and Marie (Wertz) Rosenberger. He was employed as a textile supervisor for Pottsville Bleach and Dye until his retirement.
Shaggy enjoyed many hobbies including fishing, crabbing, kayaking, white water rafting, golfing, line dancing and collecting beach glass.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rose McGowan Rosenberger; his daughter Tracy Rosenberger Baver; his son Mark Rosenberger and his brother Daniel Wertz.
Shaggy is survived by his daughter, Terry Rosenberger Squires and her husband John, Girardville; his sister, Kathrin Wertzberger; his sister-in-law, Elizabeth Wiecicoskie; his grandchildren: Carissa McGinley (Jeff Kramer); Michael Halsey (Morgan Drey); Sarah Halsey (Cole Smeltz); Amanda Halsey; and Jacob Baver; his great-grandchildren: Connor, Addy, Hanna, Brinley, Jason, Ivy, Amarrah and Maddy; his best friends, Sandy Kramer and Kristen Krusnoski; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Joseph A. Ziolko, 89, a resident of Brandonville, passed away on October 29th, 2023.
Joseph was born in Zion Grove on July 12, 1934, a son of the late Joseph and Frances (Markosky) Ziolko. He was a life long heavy equipment mechanic, having retired from Kaminski Brothers Construction in Pittston.
In his younger years, he and his siblings had a polka band, the Ziolko Brothers Orchestra, in which he played the trumpet. His love of music lasted a lifetime, as he enjoyed dancing and country music, inspiring many trips with his wife to Branson. A member of the Sheppton American Legion Post, and the former Citizens Fire Company in Brandonville, Joe played in the finger leagues and was a dart shooter. Throughout his lifetime, he was passionate about training his German shepherds.
More recently, Joe enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank, Anthony and Edward Ziolko.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruth (Sands) Zioko, and his two daughters, Lorrie, wife of Brian Deffley and Kimberly Jo, wife of Mario Curreli. Four grandchildren, Erin Deffley, Kirstyn Kankowski, Connor Deffley and Joseph Kankowski, along with two great grandchildren, Anthony and Alexander Plaska survive.
A brother Robert Ziolko and a sister Frances Brestowski also survive along with nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Friday, November 3rd, 2023 at 11 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church, Park Avenue, Brandonville. A time for visitation will be held from 10-11 AM, and Joe will laid to rest immediately following the service at the Brandonville Union Cemetery.

Lenore M. Slotterback, 97, of Lavelle, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 29th at the home of her daughter Helen.
She was a daughter of the late John and Mary F. Siciliano DeAngelo.
She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church, Ashland. She worked in the dietary and laundry department before retiring from the former Ashland State General Hospital. Lenore took pride in her family and was an excellent cook and homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Guy D. Slotterback in 1999; her eight brothers: Joseph, Peter, George, Frank, Philip, James, Anthony, and Louis DeAngelo; her four sisters: Anna Conniff, Madeline Buzzeli, Victoria Mancuso and Mary DePinto.
Lenore is survived by her 3 daughters: Barbara Malewski; Jane Walter and her husband Gary; Helen O’Neill and her companion Chris; her grandchildren: Luke Chiaretti (Jessica); Rachel Walter; Daniel Walter (Samantha); Paige Falco (Nick); her 5 great-grandchildren: Zoey, Ella, Bobby, Abbie, Sylvia and one due to arrive in December; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 2nd at 10 a.m. from St. Charles Borromeo Church, Ashland with Rev. Giuseppe Esposito, pastor, as the celebrant. Friends and family are invited to her viewing on Thursday morning at the church from 8 am until the time of mass. Interment will follow mass at the Citizen’s Cemetery, Lavelle.
