Cookie Kerrigan, 77, Girardville passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 3rd at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville surrounded by her family.
Born in Frackville, she was a daughter of the late John and Bessie Fowler. She worked at Mary's Cafe in Girardville and at Ashland Shirt until her retirement.
She is survived by her husband, John "Crash" Kerrigan, Girardville; her two daughters: Lori A. Kerrigan, Ringtown and Shannon Kerrigan O'Connell, Cressona; her son, Mark Rainis and his wife Christy, Girardville; her 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be private.

Mabel M. Leiby, 97, of West Penn Township, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, in St. Luke’s Miners Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Coaldale. She was the wife of the late William A. Leiby, who passed away on December 4, 2016.

Mabel M. Leiby, 97, of West Penn Township, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, in St. Luke’s Miners Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Coaldale. She was the wife of the late William A. Leiby, who passed away on December 4, 2016.
Prior to retiring, she was a sewing machine operator at various garment factories, previously worked at the former Atlas Powder Co., Reynolds, and the former Speed Space, Hometown, where she was an electrician’s assistant. Born in Andreas, she was the daughter of the late Henry P. and Olivia J. (Ziegler) Kemmerer. Mabel was a member of Dinkey Memorial Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lehighton. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and expressed complete adoration towards her husband. She was known for her excellent cooking and baking skills.
She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sandra, daughter, Linda Taylor, five brothers, Floyd, Cleo, Ralph, James, and Arden, two sisters, Louella Gerber and Dorothy Brobst, and a granddaughter, Stacy Dalton.
Surviving is a son, William “Jr”, and his wife, Patricia, of Andreas; three daughters, Donna Leiby, and her fiancĂ©, Thomas Burns, of Tamaqua, Kay, wife of Rudy Sheeler, of Andreas, and Judy Parks, and her fiancĂ©, Thomas Bailey, of Ormond Beach, FL; sister, Myrtle Frank, of Andreas; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren.
Services will be private with the Rev. Russell Campbell officiating.
Private interment in Dinkey Memorial Cemetery, Lehighton.
Arrangements are being handled by the Hartman Funeral Home, 1791 West Penn Pike, Rte. 309, New Ringgold.
Miriam “Mim” E. Maurer, 95, of Ashland passed away early Wednesday morning at home.
Born in Ashland on April 14, 1928 she was the daughter of the late Ida (Knock) and Richard Procter.
She was the wife of the late Ronald E. Maurer Sr. they were married for 62 years.
Mim graduated from Ashland High School in 1946.
She worked in payroll for the Mount Carmel Gas Company, Raudenbush Bakery and lastly Tri-State Envelope before her retirement.
She was of the Protestant faith and a longtime member of Zion’s Reformed United Church of Christ in Ashland. She was the organist and choir director at Zion’s Reformed United Church of Christ for over 74 years. She was also a member of the Ashland Area Community Choir and Ralph Edwards Dance Studios.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by; sister Hazel Procter; daughter in law Anna Marie (Rebuck) Maurer.
Surviving are; daughter Debra Ondeyka (John), Fanwood NJ; daughter Pamela Gressens (Douglas), Ashland; son Ronald E. Maurer Jr., Catawissa; 6 grandchildren Gregory Gressens (Kayla), Brent Gressens (Bethany), Dr. Amy Ondeyka MD (Brian Piacitelli), Jeff Ondeyka, Ryan Maurer (Shannon), Ben Maurer (Mattea); 4 great grandchildren Mackenzie, Harmony, Vayda, Stella.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday October 7th at 2:30 PM at Zion’s Reformed United Church of Christ, 2400 Centre St, Ashland PA. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Saturday October 7th from 1-2:30 PM in the church. Burial will be at Brock Cemetery in Ashland.

Joanne R. Bosack, 80, of Medford Lakes, NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 2, 2023 at home.
Born in Pottsville, PA, Joanne graduated from Pottsville High School, and after 25 years of marriage, and the passing of her husband Robert, Joanne continued her education at Moore College of Arts & Design, where she would earn her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. She then attended Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, where she earned her Master of Fine Arts in Painting. Joanne was an abstract painter and showed her work at various galleries. She was a member of the Sketch Club in Philadelphia, where she was selected for many exhibitions. She also taught a few classes as an Adjunct Professor at Camden County College. Joanne loved her family and her cats. She was involved with every step of her kids and grandkids lives for special events and milestones.
Wife of the late Robert B. Bosack, Sr.; daughter of the late Ralph and Louise Schuster; sister of the late Nancy (Schuster) Gangloff; she is survived by her loving children, Robert B. Bosack, Jr. (Mary), Timothy C. Bosack (Michele), and Amy L. Bosack (Bryan); 6 grandchildren: 4 great grandchildren; and her companion, Fred Gross.
Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday, October 6, 2023, from 9:30-11AM, at the Mathis Funeral Home, 58 N. Main St., Medford, NJ. Funeral services will follow at 11AM, at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven, PA.
Donations may be made in Joanne's memory to a charity of the donor's choice.
