MEET THE SCHUYLKILL COUNTY MARCHING BANDS is back, highlighting the Marching Bands from our Schuylkill County School Districts.  Next to be featured for the 2023 season is the marching band from Schuylkill Haven Area, directed by Caitlyn Biggs.

Makeup of Band: 6th Grade through 12th Grade

Director Caitlyn Biggs has been a band director for 15 years.

This season the Hurricane Marching Band is jamming out to the sounds of Rock n’ Roll. With so many legendary bands to choose from it was hard to narrow it down to just three. They kick off the show with “Enter Sandman” by Metallica. All aboard - up next is “Crazy Train” by Ozzy Osborn. They bring the show to a close with “Dream On” by Aerosmith.

Goals for 2023:  This year is a year of growth! We are constantly pushing ourselves to improve upon our music and marching skills and to translate that to each performance.

Major Events Schedule for 2023:

The Marching Band performs at every Football Game and takes part in pep rallies before each home game. The Marching Band also helps to rally behind students in each building by lending their support for the Elementary PBIS kick off Pep Rally. This year the band has several parades on their calendar. We performed in the Fireman's Convention parade in August, will perform in both the Schuylkill Haven and the St. Clair Halloween Parades in October, and the Memorial Day Parade in May. One big highlight for this year is a large Alumni Band on September 29th that will include over 30 Alumni!
