Minersville Police arrested a Philadelphia man for sexually assaulted a child.
According to Minersville Police Sgt. Jeffrey Bowers, on Tuesday, borough police travelled to Philadelphia to take 21-year-old Dane Piccone Jr. into custody on charges of rape of a child, criminal attempt at rape of a child, aggravated indecent assault of a child, incest of a minor, indecent assault, and indecent exposure. The charges were filed by Sgt. Bowers and Schuylkill County Detective Thomas Robin.
The charges stem from allegations that Piccone sexually assaulted a female family member from 2017 to 2020 when the family member was 7 to 10 years old.
The investigation began in July of 2023 when victim told police that she was being sexually assaulted by Piccone in their home on Sunbury Street in Minersville.
Piccone was interviewed on October 25th, 2023, where he admitted "doing stuff" to the victim on and off. He admitted to some of the allegations but denied some of them as well.
After being taken into custody Tuesday, Piccone was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Dave Plachko on the above charges and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison on $75,000 straight cash bail.
