A Girardville man is locked up in Schuylkill County Prison after state authorities executed a warrant last week.
According to court documents, Gavin Allen, 27, of Girardville was taken into custody on Wednesday, November 8th, 2023, by members of the Pennsylvania Attorney General's office after an investigation led them to believe he was selling drugs from his home on Reed Street.
The documents showed that an investigation involving the distribution of methamphetamine by Allen began in October of 2023.
On Wednesday, November 8th, agents from the Attorney General's office executed a search warrant at his home and found several items, in his 2nd floor bedroom, suspected of being controlled substances.
Those items included:
- 87.5 grams of methamphetamine
- 3.5 grams of cocaine
- 1 gram of fentanyl
- 87.5 grams of marijuana
Allen was transported to the Girardville Police station where he was questioned, and admitted to investigators that he was selling methamphetamine from the home and admitted to using the other drugs that were seized.
The Attorney General's office charged Allen with 1 count of felony possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, 4 counts of misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance, and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison on $75,000 straight cash bail.
He remains locked up waiting for a preliminary hearing scheduled for November 22nd, 2023, before Judge Tarantelli.
