Law enforcement was at the scene of a standoff in Pottsville for almost 2 hours on Thursday morning.
Around 10:00am, Thursday, fire personnel from the Pottsville City Fire Department were called to shut down several intersections at the request of the police department.
Those intersections included:- 19th & Market Streets
- 18th Street & West End Avenue
- 20th Street & West End Avenue
- 19th Street & Elk Avenue
The incident in question occurred on North 19th Street and involved a wanted person by the U.S. Marshals.
Chief Morrow referred all other questions to the U.S. Marshals office.
The closed streets reopened around 11:30am, Thursday.
