Daniel Gerrard Brennan
, 67, of Huber Heights, Ohio, formerly of Minersville, passed away on Friday, October 6, at Grandview Hospital, Dayton Ohio.

Born in Pottsville on November 16, 1955, he was a son of the late Joseph “Ducky” Brennan and the late Rose “Tess” (nee Callaghan) Brennan. He was a 1974 graduate of Minersville Area High School, and as a young man, was a candidate for Minersville Borough Council. He worked for the former Bott’s Auto Parts, Minersville, before moving to Ohio in 1979. He worked at Dayton Appliance Parts for 29 and a half years before retiring.

He was an avid comic book enthusiast.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Eileen Grabowski, in 2014. He married his longtime partner, Christopher Zaharis Brennan, in 2016.

In addition to his husband, Dan is survived by his two brothers, William Brennan (spouse, Brenda), Front Royal, Virginia, Joseph A. Brennan, Jr. (spouse, Georgianne), Davenport, Florida; several nieces and nephews, his two dogs and many friends.

A Celebration of Dan’s life will take place at Dutcavich Funeral Home, 200 Sunbury Street, Minersville, commencing at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 16, which would have been Dan’s 68th birthday. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Mount Peace Cemetery, Branch Township.

Linda Lou Bonetsky
, beloved wife, mother, granny, sister, 75 years of age of West Penn Township Tamaqua, Pennsylvania passed away suddenly on Friday, November 10, 2023, at home.

Born Tuesday, December 16, 1947 in Coaldale, Pennsylvania,the daughter of the late Francis, and Esther (Stahler) Valentine. Linda was also predeceased by; first husband, George Heffelfinger; sons, George, and Charlie Heffelfinger; brothers, James, and Francis Valentine; great grandson, Jaxon Colt Hutta.

Surviving are; her husband of 40 years, Donald G. Bonetsky; daughters, Linda L. Hutta, Deann Breiner; sons, Wayne Heffelfinger, Stephen Heffelfinger and his wife Dee; sisters, Debra Levitt wife of Sheldon and Barbara Gallagher; 18 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren.

Linda was employed at K&F Flex Pack in quality control, and previously worked in the Textile Industry for many years. Linda, was always in search of the winning scratch off while fueling her love of candy. She was devoted to her family, and will be deeply missed.

Robert E. “Bobby” Kubilis
, 80 of Shenandoah Heights, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Schuylkill East Norwegian Street, Pottsville.

Born in Shenandoah on August 3, 1943, he was a son of the late Edward and Mary (Palavage) Kubilis.

He was a graduate of Moorestown High School, Moorestown, NJ.

Mr. Kubilis was a decorated Navy veteran having served during the Vietnam era. He received the Good Conduct Medal.

He was a retired boiler maker having worked for the International Brotherhood of Boiler Makers Local #13, Philadelphia. He was of the Catholic faith.

Bobby was a talented handyman, always willing to help anyone. He was always seen repairing or building something for family friends and neighbors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family. But above all, he was a great family man and especially enjoyed activities and holidays with his wife, children, grandchildren, and extended family members.

Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his baby brother, Edward and a sister, Sandra Coruzzi.

Surviving are his wife, the former Darlene Cortright of forty-five years; two sons, Robert G. Kubilis and his partner Angie Duran of Weston, Florida and Edward F. Kubilis and his wife Carolyn of Leonardo, NJ; one daughter, Dawn L. Packer and her husband John of Harrisburg; eight grandchildren, John, Andrew & Elizabeth Packer, Reks, Tierney & Vivian Kubilis, and Ana & Penelope Mueses; one great-grandson, Bryce Packer; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Religious services will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023 at 10:00 am at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin Street, Shenandoah with Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. A visitation will be held on Monday morning from 8:00 am until 10:00 am at the funeral home.

Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, Shenandoah is in care of the arrangements.

Zbigniew Kakol
, fondly known as "Joe," passed away on November 9, 2023, at the age of 69, surrounded by family his home in Ringtown.

Born on May 26, 1944, in Warsaw, Poland, Joe Kakol was the son of the Bolslaw Kakol and Krystyna Kakol, of Orwigsburg. From the bustling streets of Brooklyn, New York, where Joe grew up, to the quiet charm of Ringtown, Joe embraced life with a resilient spirit and unwavering determination.

A true New Yorker at heart, Joe Kakol held a special place for his hometown sports teams, passionately cheering for the Jets and Mets. However, his loyalty knew no bounds when it came to football, as he supported the Green Bay Packers.

Joe was retired, having last worked locally at Jeld-Wen in RIngtown. When not working, Joe enjoyed honing his mechanical skills, working on cars.

He leaves behind his wife, Patrice Kakol, with whom he shared countless joys and weathered life's storms. His sons, Joseph and Patrick, and his daughter, Krystyna, along with their children, his beloved grandchildren also survive.

The Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home is providing Joe's family with private services during their time of need.

Charmaine Welsh
, 63, of McAdoo, and formerly of Drums, passed away Wednesday afternoon at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton.

Born in Wilkes Barre, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Irene (Steadele) Ahlbrandt and was the Methodist faith.

Prior to retiring, she was employed at the former St. Joseph’s Hospital and later at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton.

Charmaine was a former leader for local girl and boy scout organizations. She enjoyed country line dancing as a pastime. She most loved spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren and dogs, Chewbacca and Bailey.

Charmaine was a loving and devoted, wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, and she will be sadly missed by all.

Preceding her in death were her grandson, Joshua Lyons; sister, Violet Licari; and brothers, David and Robert Ahlbrandt.

Surviving are her husband of 14 years, Mark Welsh; children, Jeremy Lyons and wife Mary Jo, McAdoo; Heather Lyons and companion Jonathan Tressler, Drums; Michael Lyons II and companion Jessica Schafer, McAdoo; and Joshua Lyons and companion Cassie Kelchak, of Drums; stepson Austin Welsh, Bloomsburg; 7 grandchildren; brother, Ronald Ahlbrandt, Drums; sisters, Dawn Klick, Drums, and Yvonne Thomas and husband Robert, Drums; and several nieces and nephews.

Rev. Todd Glasmire will conduct the funeral service on Monday, 11 a.m., at the Damiano Funeral Home, Inc., McAdoo. Interment will follow in Drums Community Cemetery.

A calling hour will be held Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.

Patricia A. Micka
, 76, of Pottsville, passed away on Tuesday evening at St. Luke's Hospice House, Bethlehem.

Born in Pottsville, on September 10, 1947, she was the daughter of the late William R. and Marie A. (DePauli) Micka.

She is a 1965 graduate of Nativity BVM High School and a graduate of Dominican College, NY.

Pat worked for more than 30 years in the banking industry building and managing commercial and residential real estate, banking and mortgage banking businesses. Prior to her retirement, she was the Managing Director of the CMBS business at JP Morgan Chase and a consultant to the Head of Commercial Real Estate Finance at Bank of America.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Anne.

Survivors include her sisters Debora Micka (Lisa) of Reading and Ellen Micka (Ed) of Pottsville; niece Michele Holdrum (James) of Pottsville; great nephew Alexander Holdrum of Pottsville; and nephews Joseph Fees, PhD of Dover, DE and Nicholas Sanelli, JD (Liam and Cosette) of Philadelphia.

Services are private at the convenience of family.

Interment will take place in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery.

Louise Ann “Lou Ann” Boyer
, 68, of Pottsville, passed away Thursday, November 9th at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg.

Born in Pottsville, July 23, 1955, she was the daughter of Elizabeth Nuss Boyer, Pottsville and the late Paul Boyer.

A graduate of Pottsville Area High School, class of 1974, she was last employed by Pine Shirt Company.

Lou Ann was a member and attended Trinity United Church of Christ, Pottsville, where she loved singing in the church choirs for over 40 years. Her church family meant the world to Lou Ann. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

Lou Ann truly cherished her family and friends.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her father are her maternal grandparents, Allen and Anna Nuss.

Lou Ann is survived by her mother, Elizabeth, siblings Harry Boyer, Pottsville; Robert & Toni Boyer Atlanta, GA; and Beth Boyer Kollas & Chad Kollas, Orlando FL; as well as nephews, nieces and cousins.

Lou Ann was an inspiration to everyone who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held Saturday, Nov 18th at 11am from James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, with her sister The Reverand Dr. Beth Boyer Kollas officiating. Family and relatives are invited to a viewing from 10AM until the time of services. Interment will follow in Charles Baber Cemetery, Pottsville. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Lou Ann be made to Trinity United Church of Christ 316 W. Market Street, Pottsville PA, 17901 or the Michael J.
