Kathryn Simodejka, 87, West West Terrace, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, November 14th at Lehigh Valley Hospital Schuylkill East, Pottsville with her family by her side.Born in Frackville, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Anna (Podgurski) Kalymun. She worked as a secretary for the former Van Heusen Shirt Factory until her retirement.
Kathryn was a devout member of Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Minersville where she also sang in the choir with her late husband Emil.
Kathryn enjoyed playing pinochle, bingo, word search and was very impressive with her spelling. She also enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Emil Simodejka in 2012.
Kathryn is survived by her daughters: Stephanie Taylor and her husband Michael, Mechanicburg; Maria Bonchack and her husband Randy, Minersville; Kris Boyle and her husband Michael, West West Terrace; her son Emil Simodejka and his wife Leonette, Lumberton, NJ; her sister, Dr. Mary Kalymun, who is a retired professor from the University of Rhode Island, who now resides in South Kingston, R.I.; her grandchildren: Ariana Taylor, Celeste Ryan, Gabriella Bonchack, Rachel and Kelsey Simodejka, Devin and Garrett Boyle; her 2 great-grandchildren, Hazel and Levi Boyle; several nieces and nephews.
Divine Liturgy will be held on Saturday, November 18th at 10 a.m. from Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Minersville with Very Reverend Gregory J Noga, Pastor. Friends are invited to her viewing at the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, 501 Washington St. Frackville on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be no calling hours on Saturday morning. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery.

Irene Emerich, 92, of Tamaqua, died on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, in Coaldale. She was the wife of the late Francis W. Emerich who died in September of 1989.
Born in Tamaqua on February 18, 1931, Irene was a daughter of the late Francis and Helen (Behun) Smith. A 1949 graduate of Tamaqua High School, she worked as a Bell Telephone operator and had also been employed by the Tobias Women’s Clothing Store and the Frantz Insurance Agency throughout her employment career. After retirement, Irene worked at the polls on election day. An animal lover, she enjoyed feeding the squirrels, chipmunks, and birds, her favorite being cardinals; and enjoyed the company of and caring for her dogs.
Irene is survived by son, Francis Emerich of Humble, TX; daughter, Lori Skeath and her husband Fred of Wapwallopen; grandchildren, Danielle, Andy, Michael, and Alicia; great grandchildren, Hudson, Amelia, and Graham; brother, William Smith of Snowshoe, PA; sister, Joan Currans of Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Memorial donations may be made to either an animal rescue or SPCA of choice.
Arrangements are being handled by the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Tamaqua.

Rhonda Josephine Muthersbaugh, 45, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Monday, November 13th, at Geisinger St. Luke's Hospital, Orwigsburg, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Pottsville on January 11, 1978, she was a daughter of Gary L. & Donna Susan (Fegley) Moyer, of Cressona.
She married her loving husband, Craig A. Muthersbaugh on April 26, 1997.
Rhonda was a 1996 graduate of Blue Mountain High School.
She was a member of Bethesda Evangelical Congregational Church of Reedsville.
Rhonda had worked at Hamburg Center as a nurse's aide for more than 20 years, and was currently employed by C.A.R.E.S., Tamaqua, for the last 6 years.
She delighted in opportunities to volunteer with the local food pantry, Meals on Wheels, and Hillside SPCA. Rhonda loved visiting the casino, bingo, and amusement parks. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Disney World; and she loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is also survived by two daughters: Kali Rose Muthersbaugh, of Lancaster, & Amy Nicole Muthersbaugh, of Schuylkill Haven, her brother, Jason Moyer, of York, aunts including her godmother, Nancy Wilcosky, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Rhonda is preceded in death by grandparents, Betty & Joe Fegley and David & Mary Moyer; in-laws, George & Noreen Muthersbaugh; and niece, Jolene Faith Moyer.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be conducted Monday at 11:30 AM at Ebling-Stabingas Funeral Home, Cressona. A viewing will be held at the funeral home from 10 AM until the time of service. Interment will follow at Cressona Cemetery.

CarolAnn Marcinowski, age 66, of Shenandoah, passed away Sunday at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown.
Born at the former Locust Mountain she was the daughter of the late Cesare and Joan T. (Leary) Capone. She was a 1976 graduate of Mahanoy Area High School and had received CNA training. She was a member of Restoration Fellowship Church in Shenandoah.
She was preceded in death by a grandson Ramon Tovar Jr.
She is survived by a son James Flamini of Williamsport, a daughter April Ann Tovar of Shenandoah, 2 brothers Charles of Mahanoy City, John and his wife Mary of Jim Thorpe, a sister Christine Markiewicz and her husband Daniel of Mahanoy City, grandchildren Emily Rose, Angeline and Noah Ramon Tovar, Alberto Stephon Rubio and Olivia Corral.
Relatives and friend are invited to call and visit with the family on Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM at David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City. A religious service will be held at 7 PM.
Marguerite J. (Burda) Wolfgang, 86 formerly of Frackville passed away on Wednesday morning, November 15, 2023, at the Orwigsburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born on July 21, 1937 in Halfway House, Gilberton, she was the daughter of the late Aloysius T. and Nellie (Chiglinsky) Burda.
She was a graduate of the former West Mahanoy Township High School, Shenandoah Heights.
Marguerite was a retired garment worker having work in the local Frackville dress factories.
She was a devout Catholic and proud of her faith; she was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Parish, Frackville, formerly St. Ann Parish. Marguerite was a member of the Women’s Guild of the parish and was very active in all parish activities.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband James H. Wolfgang on May 17, 2023; three brothers, Deacon Joseph R. Burda, Sr., Jack Burda and Albert Burda.
Surviving are two sons, James A. Wolfgang and his wife Susan of Blanford, MA and Alan S. Wolfgang of Harrisburg; one daughter, Debrah Eisele and her husband William of Lavelle; four grandchildren, Alex & Elizabeth Eisele and Dylan and Nicholas Wolfgang; one sister, Dorothy Brenick of Allentown; nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 9:00 am in St Joseph the Worker Parish, 49 North Line Street, Frackville with Reverend Giuseppe C. Esposito, Pastor as the celebrant. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, Butler Township, Frackville. A viewing will be held on Saturday morning from 8:00 am to 9:00 am at the church.
