Doris Viola “Fuzzy” Habel Hosier, 76, of Tamaqua died on November 19, 2023, in Coaldale.Born in Tamaqua on December 23, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Roy D. and Doris B. (Malick) Habel. “Fuzzy” attended Tamaqua High School and worked in the garment industry. She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tamaqua. A resident of the Tamaqua High Rise, “Fuzzy” enjoyed playing cards with the other women who live there. Doris was very dedicated to her family especially her daughter and grandson.
She is survived by daughter, Kim Mendinsky and her husband, Andy of Hometown; grandson, David M. Murphy of Frackville and his fiancée Jessica Jackowski; brother, Joseph Habel and his wife, Danielle of Tamaqua; sister-in-law, Bonnie Habel of Mary D; and several nephews and nieces.
Doris was preceded in death by a brother, Roy “Poncho” Habel and sister, Kathryn M. Moser and her husband, Robert.
Services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, November 24, 2023 at the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua with Vicar Dillon Epler officiating. Interment in Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown will follow the services. Call 9-11 AM on Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations toward the cost of the funeral services may be made to the funeral home.
Arrangements are being handled by the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Tamaqua.

Honora M. Stitzer, 92, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Sunday, November 19th, at Mifflin Center, Shillington.
Born in Detroit, Michigan on September 24, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Stanley & Mary (Ruszkowska) Skowronek.
She was the widow of James A. Stitzer who passed away in 2007.
Honora attended Reading High School.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Polish National Catholic Church, Middleport. Honora also belonged to the Polish Cultural Education Society, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Middleport, and the Berks County Historical Society.
Honora is survived by her loving son, Mark A. Stitzer, husband of Sandra of Wernersville; three grandchildren: Nicole Guziak & husband, Matthew, Megan Stitzer, & Mark Alan Stitzer, Jr., two great-grandchildren: Savannah, & Grayson, and a sister, Roseanne Przyjemski, of Kenhorst.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at on Tuesday, November 28th at First United Methodist Church, Schuylkill Haven, at 10:30 AM with Rev. Dr. Christopher Fisher officiating. A viewing will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of service.
Interment will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
At the family's request, memorial donations may be forwarded to Alzheimer's Foundation of America 322 8th Avenue, 16th floor New York, NY 10001.

Joan M. Zemanik, 92, formerly of Tamaqua, passed away Friday, November 17 at Lehigh Valley Medical Center, Allentown.
Born in Tamaqua on September 30, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Joseph J. & Julia (Trackim) Urban.
She was the widow of Edward S. Zemanik.
In addition to her parents and husband, Joan is also preceded in death by all four of her sisters: Frances, Regina, Anna Mae, & Mary.
She was a 1949 graduate of St. Jerome's Catholic High School, Tamaqua.
Joan was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven.
She had served on CWEA for St. Jerome's School.
Joan enjoyed taking care of her beloved garden.
She was formerly employed by Bell Telephone as an operator, as well as Tamaqua High School in the cafeteria.
Joan is survived by three sons: Rev. Monsignor Edward Zemanik, Schuylkill Haven, Robert Zemanik, Port Carbon, & Thomas Zemanik, Allentown, three grandchildren: Kristine Yanett, Thomas Zemanik, Jr. USAF (RET), & Matthew Zemanik, and two great-grandchildren: Levi Zemanik, & Landen Yanett.
A viewing will be held Friday, November 24th from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, with Rev. Msgr. Edward S. Zemanik officiating.
Private interment will be held at St. Jerome's Catholic Cemetery, Tamaqua.
At the family's request, memorial donations may be sent to St. Jerome's Regional School, to help fund great-grandson, Landen Yanett's education. Geraldine R. "Gerry" Zelasny, age 90, of Mahanoy City, died Friday at her home.
Born in Mahanoy City, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary (Kelly) Fogarty. She attended area schools and was a member of St. Teresa of Calcutta Church in Mahanoy City. She along with her husband owned and operated Cotton's Tavern formerly in Mahanoy City.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank and a son Michael as well as several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by two daughters Diane Gallagher and her husband Kenneth of Mahanoy City, Karen Uhrie of Gilberton and a son Frank of Allentown, 3 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by the Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher on Saturday morning at 10:30 AM from St. Teresa of Calcutta Church.
Friends may call at the church on Saturday morning beginning at 9:30 AM. David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City is in charge of arrangements.

Elaine Joan (Hess) Hollenbach, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, 81 years of age, of New Ringgold, East Brunswick Twp., Pennsylvania passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Hospice in-patient unit in Salisbury Twp.
Born Wednesday, February 25, 1942, in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Charles Hess, and Victoria (Lick) Hess - Freeman. Elaine was also predeceased by her stepfather, John Freeman.
Surviving are daughter, LaRue Flammer; son, Richard Hollenbach II and his wife Debbie; sister, LaRue Case; grandchildren, Lauren Flammer and her fiancé Dakota Soloman, Matthew Flammer, Richard Hollenbach III and his wife Bethany, Jonathan Hollenbach, and his fiancée Tia Blauvelt.
A graduate of Blue Mountain High School, Elaine attended Kutztown University. Elaine retired as secretary to the Athletic Director of Blue Mountain School District having worked 30 years. A member of Christ Church of McKeansburg, Elaine enjoyed investigating family genealogy, history, archeology, and was well versed in the events of the Civil War, participating in Civil War Round Table meetings and conferences. She also belonged to the Pennsylvania German Society and a number of Local Historical Societies. Elaine's greatest joy was time spent with her family and she loved her children, and grandchildren unconditionally.

Agnes Ferguson, 101, of Parkville, MD and formerly of Shenandoah, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023, at Morningside House of Satyr Hill in Parkville.
Born in Shenandoah on July 24, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Fillippo and Rose (Astorino) Esposito.
Agnes was a 1940 graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School. She had to go to work at young age to help support her family. She worked many years and retired as a telephone operator for the former C & T Telephone Company. Agnes was a lifelong member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Shenandoah. She loved to cook, go on picnics, and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Besides her parents, she was preceded by her husband, John Ferguson in 1999, and a brother, Peter Esposito.
Surviving family include a brother, Philip A. Esposito; also, her nephew and caregiver, Philip Esposito; along with other nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, November 22nd from 9 to 10:30am at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am in Divine Mercy Parish, 218 W. Cherry St, Shenandoah and will be officiated by Msgr. Ronald Bocian. Interment will immediately follow in the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.

Mark R. Harris, 59, of Mowry, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 18, after demonstrating exceptional resilience in the face of lung cancer, all while surrounded by his loved ones.
Born on Aug. 13, 1964, at Ashland Hospital, to Carolyn (Bloch) Harris and the late Harry Harris. Mark dedicated over 20 years of his life to Universal Forest Products, where he held various roles, including Supervisor.
Mark possessed a remarkable talent for woodworking, devoting his recent years to crafting custom orders that spanned multiple states. His most sought-after creations were his immaculate sheds. In his youth, Mark enjoyed dirt bike and quad racing in New York and New Jersey, with a special fondness for the Flying Dutchmen track in Pine Grove. Among his many interests, he had a passion for car mechanics and cherished spending time with his numerous animals, particularly his cats, Kitty and Jake.
Mark is survived by his life partner, Traci, and his mother, Carolyn. He leaves behind his sons, Cody and Devin, both residing in Schuylkill County; stepdaughters, Aliah (Christopher), Scranton, and Rachel (Josh), Bethlehem; siblings, Keith M. Julio (Cindy), Pine Grove, Gerald L. (Mel), Ashland, Robin (Joseph), Gordon, Ruthann (Bruce), Erdman, William (Tammy), Hegins, and Timothy; brother-in-law, Carl Zerbe, Valley View; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and others also mourn his passing.
Mark is preceded in death by his father, Harry, and his sister, Cathy Zerbe.
In addition to his many talents, Mark will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, which touched the lives of many.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at the family's convenience, with arrangements entrusted to the Richard W. Fritz Funeral Home, Ashland. Freddie W.O. Kamp, 88, of Deer Lake, passed away Tuesday, November 21st, 2023 while in the company of family, at his residence in Auburn.
Freddie was born in Deer Lake, on August 1, 1935, a son of the late Hannah Matilda (Brobst) and Fred Kamp, Sr.
He was the widower of Grace Mary (Hendricks) Kamp. She passed in 1986.
Freddie graduated from Auburn High School in 1956 and then went on to proudly serve his country in the US Marine Corps.
He was a member of Zion's Red Church Orwigsburg and retired from Reneer Films Auburn, after over 30 years of employment. Freddies interests include Woodworking,
Sapphire Band, The New Individuals Band, Camping and Traveling.
Freddie is survived by his daughter, Laura Ann Rogers, of Auburn and her Companion Ray Kline.
He is also survived by his grandchildren Amanda Kline, Wife of Jonathan Kline; Bethany Ahwireng; Kirk Rogers, Jr.; Joshua Rogers and Seven Great grandchildren Emmanuel, Brayden, Lilly, Gracelyn, Gabby, Landon & Kaiden.
