As of noon, Friday, Route 901 remains closed in Schuylkill County after a fiery three vehicle crash.
The crash occurred just before 10:15am, on Route 901 in Barry Township between Buckhorn Road and Beurys Road when a Toyota Prius went head-on into a tractor trailer, then a 2nd tractor trailer also became involved.
Both tractor trailer's involved, trucks from Weis and J&R Schugel, caught fire.
The truck drivers were not injured but the driver of the Prius sustained non-life-threatening injuries but was transported to the Schuylkill County Airport by Minersville EMS where they were flown to an area hospital.
State Police and local police were all at the scene.
Units from Minersville, Cass Township, and Frackville handled the crash scene while Lavelle and Foster Units handled traffic control, and a tanker task for units from Gordon, Lavelle, Llewellyn, Port Carbon, Pottsville, Cressona, Newtown, Pine Grove, and Muir assisted with water.
The roadway is expected to be closed for an extended period of time for cleanup.
