A Frackville man is wanted after a police pursuit early Sunday.
According to court papers filed through Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli's office by the Pennsylvania State Police, the incident began around 12:30am, on Sunday, December 17th, 2023, on southbound Interstate 81 in Butler Township.
Trooper Owens was on patrol and observed a blue Ford pickup. A records check showed the insurance on the vehicle was cancelled.
When trying to conduct a traffic stop, the driver failed to yield, sped up, and began to pass vehicles on the right shoulder until leaving the Interstate at exit 119 (High Ridge).
State Police followed the vehicle onto a gravel path at the High Ridge Exit and into an open lot. The driver then swung a wide u-turn allowing police to shine their lights into the driver's seat. Police would later identify the driver as Bryan Uroskie, 39, of Frackville.
The pursuit continued down High Ridge Park Road, and down the mountain and into the borough of Gordon. Uroskie continued to flee in excess of 100 mph.
Uroskie then struck a PennDOT sign at the intersection of East Plane Street and West Biddle, then through a grass field, and onto East Plane Street where he struck another sign.
The pursuit continued through Gordon until Uroskie ditched his vehicle and fled on foot until police lost visual of him in the 500 Block of McKnight Street.
As of result of the pursuit, State Police have issued an arrest warrant for Uroskie on the following charges:
- Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police
- Flight to Avoid Apprehension
- Evading Arrest
- Operating a Vehicle with your privileges are revoked or suspended
- Damage to Unattended Property
- Driving a vehicle with registration suspended
- Multiple Traffic Violations
