The Greater Schuylkill Haven Area Business Association held an event on Tuesday, December 5th, at the Schuylkill Haven American Legion Post 38, where they present monetary awards to five local non-profit organizations.
The recipients of this year's recognition were The Frontier Girls, The Schuylkill Haven American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Boy Scouts Troop 622, The Schuylkill Haven Council of Churches, including both the Food Pantry and the Weekender Program.
GSHABA, an organization committed to supporting and uplifting the local community, annually identifies non-profits worthy of financial acknowledgment. The selection process involves nominations by business members, considering factors such as need and the organizations' contributions to health, education, and service within the community.
Jeff Spotts, the current (and now outgoing) president of GSHABA, presented the awards.
During the ceremony, he provided an overview of each organization, highlighting their essential roles in the community. In turn, the recipients had the opportunity to share summaries of their organizations, detailing the wide array of services and programs they provide to enhance the well-being of the local residents.
Food at the event was provided by GSHABA member, The Cantina.
