The Mahanoy City Elks Lodge No. 695 recently donated $6,000 to Schuylkill Community Action Food Network to assist local food pantries in their venue during the holiday season.
The funds were made available through a Beacon Grant secured by the lodge from ENF (Elks National Foundation) a charitable arm of the BPOE who funds projects with a mission to build stronger communities and helps fund projects to improve the quality of life in Elks communities.
The network distributed $2,000 for use at each pantry location in Mahanoy City, Shenandoah and Ringtown in the lodge's venue.
