A man was flown with severe injuries after a crash involving a deer on the Gordon Mountain Monday evening.
According to Cass Township Police, the crash occurred around 6:00pm on Highridge Park Road on the Heckscherville side of the Gordon Mountain.
The crash occurred when a deer jumped out in front of a Jeep driven by Roger Klinger Jr., 43, of Pottsville.
The deer went completely through the windshield of the Jeep, ending up in the trunk of the vehicle.
Police say Klinger suffered severe facial and head injuries in the crash. Minersville EMS was dispatched to the scene and requested air medical. Klinger was transported to a landing zone and flown to an area hospital.
The south side of the mountain from Keystone Boulevard to Valley Road was closed while the scene was cleared.
