The meeting on Wednesday opened with the swearing-in of the newly elected officials: Roy Green, Mary Anne Woodward, Michael Kiehl, and Raymond Reichwein. The oath was administered by Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli.
Next on the agenda was the election of a new Board President, following the resignation of the previous President, Charles Hepler.
In the process of seeking nominations, member Janine Simms nominated Roy Green. A vote was held among the members, and Green was unanimously elected.
Following that, the Vice President position, previously held by Green, was discussed. Board Member Reichwein nominated Mike Kiehl, while Simms nominated Thomas Fletcher. Although Fletcher received a second to the nomination, Kiehl did not. With a unanimous vote among the members, Fletcher assumed the role of Vice President.
During the meeting, the Board also voted to change the School Board meeting schedule. Going forward, meetings will still be held the 3rd Wednesday of each month, but instead of having the Committees meetings the week prior, they will now be held the same night.
Starting in January, the Committee as a Whole meeting will be held at 6:00pm (where students of the month will be recognized), followed by the Committee Meetings at 6:30pm, and the Regular Voting Meetings will be held at 7:30pm.
During the regular voting meeting of the board, Randy Lattis was appointed as a member of the board. Lattis had previously occupied the seat vacated by Suzanne O'Neill. The position appointed was the two-year seat that Mike Kiehl had won during the last election. Kiehl had also won the 4-year seat during the same election. He resigned from the 2-year position to assume the 4-year seat.
