An infant and three other people were injured during a house fire in Shenandoah Heights midday Friday.
Just before noon, emergency personnel were called to 260 Indiana Avenue in Shenandoah Heights, West Mahanoy Township for a house fire with possible entrapment.
As first responders were on their way to the scene, they were advised of a child entrapment upstairs.
Shenandoah Police Officer Mark Hysock, who is also a firefighter, was first on scene, went into the home and rescued an infant from the room where the fire was occurring.
The child was transported to the Shenandoah Helipad who they were flown with unknown injuries. Three other people were also injured and transported to the hospital.
The fire was contained to the upstairs of the home and was brought under control within 20 minutes of arrival.
A State Police Fire Marshal was on scene Friday afternoon to investigate.
Responding to the scene were firefighters from West Mahanoy Township, Shenandoah, Mahanoy City, and Englewood.
