Francis P. Sherry, Jr.
, 69 years of age of Tamaqua, Pennsylvania passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at home.

Born Wednesday, February 10, 1954 in Coaldale, Pennsylvania the son of the late Francis P., Sr., and Eleanor (Kline) Sherry. Francis was also predeceased by; sister, Patricia A. (Sherry) DeLay; brother, Gary Sherry.

Surviving are sisters, Kathryn M. Nunemacher wife of Ron, Ann M. Houseman both of Tamaqua; nieces, Lori Fannock, Angela Xander, Sarah Donlin; nephews, Stephen Kantor, Eddie Houseman, Josh Nunemacher. Many great nieces and nephews also survive Francis.

A Panther Valley High School graduate, Francis was affiliated with St. John Lutheran Church of Tamaqua. He worked at the former J. E. Morgan Knitting Mills for many years, retiring from TransWestern Polymers of Hometown. A member of the Tamaqua Rescue Squad No. 1, Francis was an avid outdoorsman who liked to fish, hunt, and camp. An animal lover, Francis enjoyed the companionship of his dogs Lucky, and Beauty.

A Celebration of Francis's Life will be held at 6 o'clock P.M. on Wednesday December 6, 2023 from the funeral home. Friends may call from 4:30 P.M. until the time of services.

Interment will be in Sky View Memorial Park, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania Thursday December 7, 2023 at 10 o'clock A.M.

Michael W. Brennan Jr., 53, of Tower City, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pottsville.

Born in Harrisburg, November 29, 1970, a son of Jean Kreiser Brennan, Tower City, and the late Michael Brennan Sr. Michael attended Pine Grove High School and later obtained his GED.

He was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, Tower City.

Michael was a social member of the Tower City Fire Company where he managed the Social Club for several years.

He enjoyed cooking and social media. Michael never let his disability get in the way of his life. He could often be found out and about on his scooter.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his aunt, Darlene Wilhem, Halifax; several cousins and many friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 11:00 AM from the Christ United Methodist Church, Tower City, with Pastor Annette Shutt officiating. Visitation will be held from 10-11 at the church. Michael will be laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery.

David William Brennan, 71, of Llewellyn, passed away peacefully on Tuesday at home.

Born March 27, 1952, in Pottsville, he was the son of the late David and Anna (Lucas) Brennan. He was a 1970 graduate of Minersville Area High School. David served in the U.S Army.

David’s passion for cars and mechanics began at an early age. He began working on cars and other equipment as a teenager. David admired a hard work ethic, which was reflected throughout his entire life. He was the owner of David W. Brennan Auto Sales for 43 years. David was an avid car enthusiast, and regularly attended the annual Barrett Jackson car show in Scottsdale, Arizona.

He was employed at SCI Frackville for twenty-five years as the Auto Trades Instructor. David retired April 6, 2018. Upon retirement, he continued his passion for cars, mechanics, and heavy equipment. His plethora of knowledge for mechanics was highly valued and respected by many.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Rosalie M. Brennan; his daughter Ashley C. Brennan, his sister Gail A. Brennan, and his grandson Joshua D. McGinley.

Funeral services will be held at Dutcavich Funeral Home, 200 Sunbury Street, Minersville on Tuesday, December 5 at 10:00 A.M. Interment with military honors will be held at St. Mary Star of the Sea Cemetery, Branch Township. The family asks that donations be made in memory of David to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place • Memphis, TN 38105.
