Schuylkill County drivers can expect some upcoming road work that will temporarily impact traffic on Interstate 81 next week.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Maintenance Forces will be conducting maintenance activities on several segments of the interstate.
Delano Township: Southbound Lane Restriction - Exit 134 (Delano)
On Interstate 81 South, a southbound lane restriction will be in place near Exit 134 (Delano).

On Interstate 81 South, a southbound lane restriction will be in place near Exit 134 (Delano).
The restriction is scheduled to commence on December 11, 2023, and is expected to be completed on the same day. Motorists should be aware of the southbound lane restriction from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Delano/Kline Townships: Northbound Lane Restriction - Exit 134 to Luzerne County Line
For Interstate 81 North, a northbound lane restriction is planned between Exit 134 (Delano) and the Luzerne County Line. The maintenance work involves crack sealing and will be conducted by PennDOT Maintenance Forces. The northbound lane restriction is set to start on December 11, 2023, and is expected to conclude on December 14, 2023.

PennDOT Maintenance Forces will be implementing a northbound lane restriction from December 11, 2023, to December 14, 2023. The restriction will be in effect during daytime hours from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
