A possible threat from a woman in Locustdale to Gillingham Charter in Pottsville ended with her being taken into custody.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, Troopers took a 40-year-old female from Locustdale into custody for DUI and a 302 warrant on Wednesday afternoon.
The arrest came after police learned she said she was intending to pick up her daughter from school in Pottsville and was possibly armed.
In relation to this, Krista Bevan, Director of Organizational Development at Gillingham Charter School in Pottsville, reported that the school was placed on lockdown around 12:45 pm when the school received a phone call from an upset woman warning them that someone was on their way to the school with guns.
State Police began to the search for the woman where she was taken into custody a short time later through a traffic stop.
The woman displayed signs of being under the influence of methamphetamine and was processed for DUI. She was also taken to an area hospital for a mental health evaluation.
The woman was found not to be in possession of any firearms, according to Troopers.
Bevan said the school's lockdown was lifted once they confirmed the woman was in custody.
The woman's name was not released by State Police.
