A woman was transported to the hospital after a crash near Girardville on Saturday morning.
Just after 8:30am, Saturday, emergency personnel were called to Connerton Road near the intersection with Connor Street in Butler Township for report of a motor vehicle accident with entrapment.
The crash involved a Toyota Matrix that was travelling towards Girardville, lost control, and struck a utility pole on the passenger side of the vehicle.
The female driver was entrapped in the vehicle and was freed by first responders and EMS.
The woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by Washington Ambulance to an area hospital. Requests were made to fly the victim but was denied due to foggy conditions.
The utility pole was not damaged but it did knock power out in the area..
Responding to the scene were the Rangers Hose Company, Girard Hose Company, Washington Ambulance, Shenandoah Ambulance, and Police from Butler Township and Ashland.
Connerton Road was closed from Girardville to Lost Creek while emergency personnel were at the scene.
