Emergency personnel are at the scene of a hazmat incident at the Walmart Distribution Center in High Ridge, Butler Township on Wednesday afternoon.
Around 12:45pm, Wednesday emergency personnel responded to an automatic fire alarm at the center.
As first responders from Frackville, Cass Township and Butler Township were on their way to the scene, they were advised of a hazmat incident involving ammonia. Further information was reported that the issue was ammonia leaking from a valve.
Along with first responders, Schuylkill County Emergency Management was dispatched to the scene.
As of 2:30pm, decontamination protocols were in place and they were waiting for a hazmat unit to arrive.
Additional tankers were also called to the scene.
