Marilyn Joan Mengel, age 85, formerly of Middleport, passed away Monday, January 15th, 2024 at Heritage at Clara Barton in Edison, NJ.Born in Middleport, PA on October 4, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Irvin Richard and Mabel (Smith) Reed.
Marilyn was a graduate of Ridley Township High School. She worked in the office at the Pennsylvania National Bank. She was a member of United Presbyterian Church in Pottsville, a member of the women's ministry and the Board of Elders.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John I. Mengel Jr. and siblings: Leafie Reed Stephens, Irvin Reed Jr., Donald Reed, Lamar Reed, Russell Reed, and Carl Reed.
Marilyn is survived by a brother Allan Reed, nine nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Relatives and Friends are invited to her viewing and services on Thursday from 1-2PM at the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home in Port Carbon.
Interment will be held in the Church of God Cemetery in Auburn.

Born in Pottsville on October 19, 1965, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Sr. and her surviving mother Anne (Wychulis) Andruscavage.
Besides her father, Amy was preceded by her brother Alfred Andruscavage Jr. in 2020.
She is survived by her Mom- Anne Andruscavage with her companion Jake Komara who was also her caregiver. A sister-in-law, Cheryl Stanitis, a nephew, Anthony Stanitis, a niece, Samantha Stanitis, great nieces- Zoey and Scarlett Rutkowsky, and very good friends- Virginia, Bob, and McKenzie Wuttke, and David Drumblusky.
Amy was employed by Avenues in Shenandoah until the Covid pandemic.
She was a member of the former St. Stephen’s Church in Shenandoah and the former St. Casimir’s Church in Mahanoy City. Amy was also a charter member of the Shenandoah Historical Society. She was a graduate of the I.U. 29 Marlin - Class of ’87. She was an avid “Barbie” collector and attended many Barbie conventions. Amy also enjoyed playing the slot machines at the casino. She loved her cats and her dog, a Pitbull – Stella.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
